I go this place on a regular basis because it offers all kinds of delicious savoury salads ( my favorite the Italian salad) and tartines ( decomposed sandwiches French style). They make their own bread and cakes. Recently they have started to propose daily lunch dishes, equally good. You can be alone or in a big group seated at the... More

Went here for a quiet breakfast with a colleague and managed to both enjoy great food - freshly baked products with various spreads served with coffee - and get some work done: some fast and free wifi's available and there's plenty of space and quiet (and power plugs!).

Pain et Cie offers a great selection of sandwiches, tartines, and salads for lunch. It has a pretty ample dining area but is very popular with locals so come early if you want to guarantee a seat.

The waitress has been really rude to us, one of my friends ordered a beer and it came with a dirty glass and the waitress complained that the glass wasn't dirty in a very snobbish way. The service is terrible and we waited 30 minutes before being served. Everything was disappointing...

We only spent about 45 minutes waiting for our order to be taken, after being admonished by the waiter at the counter for daring to approach him and inquire about receiving service. The only reason we stayed is because it was pouring rain outside and we weren't in the mood to go searching for another breakfast place while getting soaked... More

Coffee and hot chocolate below average, plus smoke from the toaster made air thick and stinky, we personally had to open windows to re-circle. Consequence: very cold and unpleasant smell in nose and clothing.

When you are used to living in a country (Scotland) that has a great breakfast tradition a continental breakfast is a little boring! This restaurant was ok - nice granola/ good pastries and breads with jam. Now we know what to expect we know what to order next time

Went for morning coffees while on a weekend in Grenoble. Place offers standard choice of hot drinks and just adequate choice of bakes/dessert. First time had really great citrusy crispy pastry meringues lemon pie (nice!!!). On a second occasion had a breakfast which i found overpriced for something that included hardly any cooking ( 8.5eur for a basket of bread,tiny... More

The only place in Grenoble that offers a great all-rounded selection of food. However, every time I go there, the staff are quite flustered and rude, particularly one man who has made quite a few rude (and sexist) comments to us.
