Had lunch here today, researched on TripAdvisor for recommendations of where to eat bouillabaisse, all answers pointed to here. Arrived at 1pm, was full soon after, impressive on a Monday lunch time. The food was good, nice theatre also showing me the fish that I would eat prior to cooking it. Pleased I visited.

Limited but enough choice of plates. They serve local dishes such as Bouiabaisse but als other traditional dishes. Prices on the upper side. Service rather slow. Located in a nice area.

I was completely satisfied. Good table by the window overlooking an attractive small harbor. Perfect service. All the fish were brought to the table before they were cooked. Bouillabaisse was as expected. Good wines.

We made reservations at Chez Fonfon, especially to try their renowned Bouillabaisse, not realising that one of our party was not only a devout meat-eater, but also was allergic to fish. We dosed him with Piriton and took our seats at the table by a window with a picturesque view across the small harbor, crowded with colourful small boats of... More

It was a freezing late January Tuesday night so the place was not full, but the staff were all friendly and attentive. The fish soup starter was excellent, deep and rich while the rouille had a nice tang. Sea bass baked in salt to follow, which was succulent and sweet and obviously fresh. So yes, you could say it's a... More

Long time ago, it was one of the places to go for great and inexpensive local cuisine but all this disappeared with the arrival of tourists. You might be very disappointed if you go there and you'll never ever see any local having a meal in this restaurant !!

I had a day trip to Marseille and of course I had to find a place to try the Bouillabaisse Marseillaise. The reason I picked Chez FonFon as it is not located in the tourist area and with quite high rating. The traditional fisherman’s bouillabaisse costs EUR53 for 1 person plus 15% which is quite pricey. The soup was made... More

A nice setting - not plush, more of a fancy café feel. Wait staff were welcoming and friendly. The bouillabaisse... well... I'm reluctant to criticise it because perhaps it represented authentic bouillabaisse. The serving was certainly generous. Lots of fish... but it seemed dry and overcooked to me. The broth was tasty. I loved the garlic rouille and aioli. But... More

We dined at Chez Fonfon. Ordered bouilabaisse for 2 and it was excellent with a lot of fish. We were constantly offered soup refills and the staff were attentive. Price not cheap but certainly not exorbitant especially in view of the quality of the food and their "pedigree". Highly recommended.

We celebrated my birthday in Fonfon last week and we were not disappointed. We ordered the catch of the day and the famous fish soup which were all delicious. I can only recommend this place - not the cheapest but worth trying for a special occasion or to taste the best fish soup in town

Thank Laura K
