Ate at La Mere Germaine several times in January 2017. The food was always absolutely phenomenal; a real treat for the tastebuds. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and of course the location is superb. Take time to learn the history of the restaurant. Highly recommended.

On a lovely sunny January day we sat outside on the waterfront and had lunch! Villefrsnche is a delight anyway and it was a bonus to find this restaurant and eat on the waterside! Setting stunning, staff very pleasant and food was good! Lovely!

We were so lucky the weather was warm and sunny so we had a table outside on the quayside edge with a panoramic view across the bay. Absolutely stunning! I can thoroughly recommend the lobster salad to start but not the lightly fried fish with onions as overpowered by the amount of onion and too much batter. The rest was... More

If you happen to be in Villefranche the food is worth going for both lunch and dinner. The staff is relatively friendly.

We stopped here on our way to Monaco (for lunch). We had a great bottle of Pouilly Fusse and plates of scallops with black truffle and arugula. OUTSTANDING! The service was impeccable and the manager spoke with us for a bit, could not have been nicer. It's pricey (relative), but was worth every bite.

En route to monoco from St. Paul de vence for a coffee we needed to stop for lunch! Randomly off season we pulled up at villa framce and went walk about and came across the restaurant which was one of a few places open given it was Xmas! We sat on the waters edge, the service and food was good... More

After a day of tours in Nice, I came back to Villefranche-sur-Mer where I was I staying and enjoyed a nice little supper here. The place wasn't crowded, and it was more like a mom and pop operation, but the food was very good.

By far the best service I have experienced in all of my travels so far in Europe. The owner was accomodating, the service was attentive without being over the top. The food was delicate, lots of flavour with a level and finesse that is worthy of it's somewhat more expensive pricing. It's definitely worth it to experience quality French cuisine... More

The setting is stunning. The service is excellent, and friendly. The Seafood Bouillabaisse which serves 2 was advertised as 75 Euro. It arrived in two large bowls full of various pieces of no-name fish floating in a brown broth. Terrible to look at and even harder to digest. Then when the table was cleared, the same dish was served again!... More
