We had a great set menu taster for three, food was fresh and tasty we really missed out on not being in the main restaurant, should have booked, as there was a great Lebanese singer and with lots of customer participation and a really good belly dancer to end the nights entertainment.

The food costs waaaaay more than it atually deserves. If you do the math, the 20euro plate doesn't actually cost 3euros in reality. The food quality is "meeh".

The restaurant is located in the center of Nice, nearby Notre Dame church along the pedestrianized road Jean Medecin. A very crowded and tourist area that would normally discourage gastronomic escapes. The restaurant indeed has a very tourist look and a very kitschy interior. Notwithstanding these lacks, the cuisine is definitely good and tasty. Try the moutal (eggplant cream) and... More

Singer was irrespecutful with people in the restaurant beside... The singer tried to let everyone stop talking because he wanted to sing. Lebanese night life is about fun and not a school class... Although food was acceptable but only cold Mezza was served... Neither Pizza Lebanese Mezza nor cooked rice... All food was put at once. We did not have... More

A chance discovery on a rainy day, one I will return to. We went for lunch and had a mixed plate. There was too much to finish, which is unusual for us! Aromatic, perfumey food, this is good Lebanese food. They also have a selection of fresh pastries, the baklava type. Staff were attentive. Near to the main shopping street... More

A break from French food. This restaurant also offers a wide variety of vegetarian items. Food tasty and well prepared and staff very friendly. For a change, try a Lebanese wine.

We were looking for a halal option in Nice, there wasn't much places. La Socrates looked like a nice place. The food was fine but overpriced.

My girlfriend and me went to Le Socrates on sunday, we wanted to order a nice bottle of wine plus the biggest menu and share it, with the option to have somethings else later, but the waiters told us that it was not possible, because we need to order at least other two other starter... we were upset so we... Hubs and I stopped here after flying into Nice from Rome. We stopped into our apartment to drop our bags and we were really hungry. Not knowing the area we found ourselves here, it looked okay and we were hungry so we stopped in. Food was good, it felt overpriced to me. Perhaps it was the area? Lots of places... More

I tried the Mezzes and they were really good and fresh: Hoummus, Eggplant, Tabouleh... For the main course I had Kafta. It was okay. The meat wasn't that good. It was too much grilled. So it was black. And it was too much lamb in it. But okay... The service was good and friendly.
