We had dinner in the middle of the old square, in the pedestrian area of the old town, where several restaurants put up tables. Quite a romantic setting. There are a number of restaurants to choose from in the central old town square in Hyeres, and on a nice night it is a lovely thing to sit outside and look up at the castle ruins and the old tower, and enjoy the bustle of the other diners and restaurants. They say this place is closed, but it sure is not. In July 2015 I ate there with my husband. He took the mussels andalouce, I ordered steak tartare. Food was great - I had mussels and fries (delicious creamy sauce on the mussels) and my husband had a meat platter. No complaints here, Mussels and Fries, Salads and beer. Just good food served by a great staff. Be sure to say hi to Michelle, she's the one that is always smiling!
