We had searched round Carpentras for somewhere to eat and came here. We'd spotted it first as we were staying at the hotel but came back and it was excellent. Lovely atmosphere.

My wife and I ate here on a stopover, we were staying at the hotel l'univers and, as we had been travelling for 9 hours, opted for this restaurant due to convenience. Fair to say I wish we had the energy to look for somewhere else, although the food was acceptable, the atmosphere was non existent - a strange experience... More
I was pretty disappointed actually. I was with a group of four and several things on the menu we chose were just not available. The waiting staff were less than helpful really. The food we did get in the end was ok, but not outstanding. The wine we had there however was very nice.
Whenever we come to Carpentras for their Brocantes, we always seem to end up here for lunch. The location is really excellent for the Sunday brocantes. Staff are always friendly, the food is always really good, and the prices are very reasonable. Very popular with the locals means they like it, so that is recommendation enough. We had this time... We both had a pasta meal (spaghetti Bolognese) and it was edible - not much else to say about it. They had a long wine list with a seemingly good selection of wines in the range of 20 to 23 euros, but they were out of all of those and the only one they had from the region we wanted... More
We were staying at the hotel next door and fancied a bite to eat before joining the Fiesta de Bodegas which ran all weekend: lots of bands and entertainment and a big screen for the World Cup Final! The terrace was busy and we focused on the steaks: 3 faux-filetsandmy son opted for the Cote de boeuf. Our trio of... More
This restaurant could do with a face lift,... but hang on. No it doesn't. It is typically French, and funky. I had read the reviews, but decided to try the place out for lunch anyway, and what a very pleasant surprise. We were royally welcomed and offered a table of our choice, and although the place was busy with mostly... More
A first word of warning, do not go to Carpentras on a Sunday night. Most places are closed. L'Univers was open but that is all it had going for it. Service was polite but not friendly. The food was very poor. Tasteless Carbonara, The worst Lasagne I have ever seen. A steak which was overcooked and lamb that must have... More
Ordering the main dish with Cocquile St-Jacques was disapointing ; only 3 cocquilles. Not enough as main dish . Dessert crème brulée was completely cold ( no warm burned sugar on it. We hoped to get more satisfaction after reading the reviews !
We needed a good place for dinner that didn't break the bank but still offered solid food. This place fit the bill perfectly. The restaurant inside is normal. The food was very good. The steak frites were excellent as was the Coq au Vin. The pesto pasta was tasteless but the rest was good. Even the kids meal (Steak +... More
