Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was definitely a tourist restaurant. Our waiter had so many tables. He was helpful to a point. Ordered the pork. It was dry, and hard to cut, even with the sharp knife (which I had to ask for) The gravy tasted like Bisto (a...powdered brown gravy I have at home) I asked for a second glass of wine, which never arrived, they did take it off the bill We ordered the tart tartin, it was horrible. It was cold and the provided spoon bent as we were trying to eat it. It did not come with ice cream as the menu stated. Perhaps it was from a cold vending machine. Two dried out sub par biscuits with a square shaped apple jam in the middle. They did replace it. Don’t bother unless you have a large group, like to drink, eat subpar food, and really like ice cream dessertsMore

Too expensive for the meal we got and the service we had. We ate for 40 euros per person, the starter was quite poor and the grilled beef of the second was too hard to cut. Despite all of this, we took a chasecake and...It was quite goodMore

I cannot believe there is still a place like that open in 2023. With all the rules and regulations about food. The food was old and frozen. Insects 🐜 or bugs found in the salad. Cutlery uncleaned with a waitress who ask us TO NO...TO BE PICKY ITS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. They serve you something good who’s been there for a while and really disgusting!! Colleague have been sick. It is unacceptable!!! Avignon is suppose to be posh but even in London suburb the restaurant is better quickly !! And I do not accept to be serve disgusting old food because I came for business !!! 10€ could be a nice big healthy FRESH meal nowadays!!! We have obviously pictures to make sure we can prove it !!More

Great atmosphere, especially if you can be seated outside on the sidewalk. Our server was very pleasant. Service was a bit slow, although I don't think that was her fault. Our starter and the pasta entrees were outstanding. We skipped dessert, but the desserts on...nearby tables looked fabulous.More

Absolutely the worst meal I’ve had in France. The beef tartare actually tops the charts as the worst tartare I’ve ever had, globally. The mussels were too dry and didn’t taste fresh. My waitress brought me the wrong beer I didn’t order, simply because the...eye ran out of the one I wanted (without telling me my order had been substituted). Service is very mediocre (takes 10-15min to have someone come and get attended to). But again, if it were great food with terrible service, i would’ve still been ok with it. When both are downers, it’s just the wrong place to dine it.More

Equivalent of pub food. Don't order anything fried as the oil is old and imparts an awful flavour. Otherwise a run of the mill meal.

We were there on a Friday night, so it was very busy, many patrons for very few staff. The staff are extremely efficient, professional, and friendly, you can't summon them the instant you want something, but they look over often enough. Food was great. Most...of the customers were locals and not tourists. We will certainly try this restaurant again if we are ever in Avignon in the future.More

The food was average, considering you are in France. The street setting smelt funny. The service was average. I would suggest a pass.

Food, service and ambience was horrible. Mains took too long to come and we noticed that they were actually ready - waiter just didn't know which table to serve to. By the time it was served ten minutes later, the salmon linguine had absorbed all...the cream sauce, noodles were fat, soggy and bland, and tasted disgusting. Supposedly medium-rare steak was medium-well and too tough. Seriously, don't bother.More

We passed by during the day on our way up to the Rue de la Republique and saw their seafood menu. We decided to try this brasserie that evening. Great choice! We each had escargots followed by a giant portion of Choucroute de la Mer...(fish, seafood, and sauerkraut), one of my favorite dishes in France. Both courses were absolutely excellent. Service was very good, as was the ambience.More

The appetizer was good but the main course, entrecote Black Agnus with sauce Cafe de Paris or Roquefort, was really bad. The flesh was full of tendons and the surface was burned to the ground, so that the knife could not do it. When we...complained about it, the waiter was very rude, he only asked: oh, wasn't it good for you and turned away. He was in no way trying to alleviate our disappointment. We have eaten in 79 counties and considered France a great food country. We still believe we can find good places to eat in France, but we cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.More

We had two great evenings here recently. Excellent oysters and moules frites and first class service. Comfortable seating and great location for people watching.

Located across from the tourism office and close to our hotel. There was a torrential downpour of rain at the time and so we headed to this restaurant simply because it was close. What a pleasant surprise! Large portion sizes! Extremely fresh seafood. I had...a beef stew as my main course and it was superb and my husband had a steak that was excellent. The staff was very attentive and worked hard to serve our needs. We left at the end of a long, enjoyable meal happy.More

We ate here for dinner and it was truly awful. My husband ordered the chicken. When it arrived it looked dry and solid. He called the waiter over and demonstrated how dry and inedible it was by knocking it on the plate. Then my steak...arrived. Again it was like leather and full of sinue . I also asked for it to be cooked rare and it came well done. When I showed the waiter he tried to tell me that it was rare. When we got back to our hotel and told the staff where we ate. They said they were not surprised and that it is not a good place to eat. Please do not eat here. You are wasting your money and it really is horrible food.More
