Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We reserved a table via internet some days in advance and also got a confirmation from restaurant. At the day of the planned visit restaurant cancelled reservation without any reason or “sorry”. So I would not go there, it is hard to rely on them...and “customer first” seems not to be their main strategy.More

We ate at Le Petit Chaudron on our first night in Avignon - I fancied local cuisine and it was literally a two minute walk from our Hotel (the Novotel). What a find, the restaurant has a 'locals' feel to it, the owner is so...friendly and so passionate about his food and it shows ! It's not in the touristy part of the city and the very, very reasonable prices (incl the wines) reflect this Would definitely recommend you eat here at least once if you;re staying in AvignonMore

The restaurant is quaint and has a very accommodating staff. The cuisine is authentic and the chocolate mousse with raspberries is incredible.

We walked here from our Air B &B, and decided to give the place a try. The food was delicious, all of it from the starter to the dessert and the wine. We had Chestnut pie for dessert that was so yummy. I had the...fish and everyone else had beef. Both dishes had a sauce that was tasty with the meal.More

Do not trust photos: they are fake. This place is low quality and shabby, plates are absolutely low quality. Only advantage: it costs little but avoid it

We found this restaurant on Tripadvisor and decided to check it out. We enjoyed the 22 Euro, 3-course menu - it was more food than I could eat. The food was excellent, the hospitality great. It appears to be run by the entire family and...they were very friendly and welcoming. Great value for money!More

Very nice, neat place with a very nice and friendly owner. We got the quiche, the specialty (gut and knuckle), the salmon and the pork cheeks and they were all very good. For dessert the strawberry and the chestnut cakes which were also very good....The menu was 22e and the quantity and quality were very good!More

My partner and I had an excellent meal recently. The chef/owner, Pascale, suggested a local red wine - was very smooth and tasty though a bit pricey (14 e for 500ml) but well worth it! We both had beef strip loin which was a bit...tough but well prepared (suggest ordering it medium). We asked for a saboyan dessert and Pascale outdid himself with what he presented - 2 large plates with cut up fresh pears, saboyan sauce with champagne. Actually we could have shared one. I thinbk he was pleased to create something off the menu as it was a slow night. The review by Tetiana M is quite accurate.More

I would categorize this restaurant as a Micheline experience at a very reasonable price. You will surely get a top notch service personally from the chef, who is owner, chef, and your server! Pasquale, that is the chef's name, is a very friendly and attentive...host. His culinary skills match the skills of those Micheline restaurants' chefs for sure. The food is extremely fresh, delicious, and mouth-watering. Every day the chef has an absolutely new menu and a quite varied choices of dishes that might meet the tastes of various customers. I highly recommend this place that offers an unforgettable food taste experience and family-like service. Do not get discouraged by the location, which is not in the city center. It is really a very quick and affordable taxi or Uber ride (well, of course, depending on where in Avignon you stay). Once again, I was absolutely astonished by the atmosphere and gourmet menu the restaurant offered. Thank you, Pasquale!More

Excellent French restaurant experience - our drinks order, food order, cooking and serving were all done by one person! Starter was buffet while he cooked main course. Nothing plush but felt authentic - we were the only non French customers. Food was very good. Overall...a good dining experience.More

Found this gem, which was a very short walk from the Novotel. Immediately greeted by the welcoming owner, who understands that some of his guests will be tourists. He and his wife run this operation and want you to walk away with an authentic experience....The value at 22 euros is unbeatable, as it includes a buffet of delicious starters, authentic main course selections, and decadent desserts. Make sure to stop here to visit Pascal on your visit to this charming city!More

Don't just walk past this inconspicuous restaurant. The chef and owner knows his craft and wants you to enjoy his food and the welcoming atmosphere. There were more local people than tourists unlike most other Avignon restaurants that we visited. The three -course meal was...carefully prepared, presented and served. Pascal, the chef, came to our table to explain our food choices and ensure we were content, Best duck we ever tasted. This was our top meal in the 5 days we spent there.More

We had a great dinner here tonight! The food was delicious and the chef/owner was so friendly that he made us feel like a part of the community. This is a local restaurant....just outside the city walls....and is definitely worth seeking out to get a...real taste if France. A true highlight of our time in Avignon.More
