Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

I was there with 20 people and colleagues on a Monday night. Nice welcome, nice service : wonderful food and wine ! Colleagues from all Europe were delighted. I used to come to this restaurant in the past with the previous generation, and the tradition...of quality and french gastronomy ! Keep going the good work.More

This was such a special find. We needed to stop for lunch before some afternoon sightseeing and came across the reviews for La Fourchette. This would become our favorite meal of our entire trip through the south of France, Paris and London! We ordered the...pumpkin soup and I have NEVER had anything so perfectly balanced, creamy and delicious. Our entree was the pork shoulder. It was also simply excellent. Although the desserts all looked incredible, we decided to end lunch with just an espresso... but here it came to us as a Café Gourmand. The perfect after dinner treat- a little gingerbread and a tiny scoop of lemon sorbet. I love how much care the French take with meals- nothing feels rushed and every dish is more beautiful than the previous! Highly recommend this special restaurant.More

We discovered La Fourchette while strolling around the beautiful city of Avignon near the Papal Palace. We didn't have a reservation, but only had to wait for 30 minutes at a high top table in the bar area enjoying a glass of wine until our...table was ready. The ambiance of the restaurant was lively yet charming, and the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. I speak a bit of French, but what I couldn't understand on the menu, our server happily explained. We were a party of 4, so we tried almost everything on the menu! All of our starters, entrees and desserts were outstanding. The wine list was mainly from local vineyards and very well priced. It was a joy to have such an amazing evening at a Michelin star restaurant that didn't cost a fortune!More

Charming restaurant steps from Le Palais des Papes. Regionally classic, impeccably prepared delicious French cuisine coupled with attentive and friendly service. One of my newly favorite restaurants in my second home of Avignon.

Some good bits to begin. The starters were delicious. I had aubergine and my partner had salmon gravalax. A solid 9/10. The Aperol spritz’s we’re very nice and the wine was lovely. Thats’s where the good bits end. We both ordered the fish with chorizo...for main course however what came was the fish with clams. I speak good French, I know I didn’t order the clam dish - neither of us like shellfish. We told our waiter who took the order that we think there has been a mistake and we received the wrong mains, he said no that is what we ordered and there isn’t anything they can do. Clams aside, we tried to eat the rest of the dish but it was so overpoweringly sickly and lemony that we couldn’t eat it. The green beans were the best thing about our main course. We quickly paid and left.More

Chose this amongst many recommendations. Location is good just off the main tourist attractions. Tightly packed tables with some locals and other tourists like myself who had obviously picked it off food guides. Typical bistro food that was well executed and tasty. Lunch was from...a set menu with 2 or 3 courses. I enjoyed some escargots followed by an onglet for my main course and had some strawberries for dessert. Satisfied we set off to explore the main town which was just round the corner.More

My wife and I visited for dinner and there were some red flags right away, one server was warm and friendly, while our main server was openly hostile and downright rude. At one point, she almost threw the food on the table. My wife had...a fish dish she thought was pretty good and I had a pork dish that was downright terrible and never should have been served. Our server threw some bread on the table but we had to flag her down to ask for olive oil. The pork was dry, overcooked and flavorless, so much so I felt ill after the worst meal I've had in France. Would steer clear.More

We were hungry and wondering the maze of old town. Somehow we stumbled onto this place and they had one table left by the window. Seemed like mostly locals here speaking French. Wow. Deserving of their Michelin star. Some of the best food we had...in France.More

We booked given the high rankings on TA and the Michelin recommendation. Though well apportioned with decent service, the presentation, quality and the value for the food is just not there. We had four courses, and each time they came close but missed the mark....Starting with the meat board. They didn’t serve enough bread, nobody checked to refill it as they were all too busy with other tables. Our next course was the local Asperagus and a seafood terrine. The sauces missed on both dishes. The waitress had suggested the veal and prawns for our main. The veal was over cooked and the prawn dish had one prawn, one midsized shrimp and a small shrimp, with some spinach thrown on a plate. The sauce lacked any depth or complexity. Hardly worth 29€. Maybe they were having an off night, between the noise and unattentive staff, not a place I can recommend.More

La Fourchette is not very big and it filled up fast. And with the people rose the noise level. While the food was fine, the noise was less. So if you are looking for a quiet place to have a easy going dinner, this is...maybe the wrong place. if you don't mind loud people around you, you can have a good dinner here, even if I think the place is overrated. There is a 3 course menue for 42 Euro with several first dishes, mains and sweets. and there is a good choice of wine. All fine, except...More

The icy Mistral was blowing hard down the streets of Avignon that early April day so we were glad to find a warm refuge in this upscale bistro. The dorade was beautifully presented and the meringue praline desert heavenly. Service is very attentive but pleasantly...informal. Good value too.More

Once we had our hotel reservation we asked the hotel staff to make our reservation. They were happy to do this for us. Saved us a lot of frustration.
