Very small but very cozy restaurant. Looks very French but unpretentious from the outside. We have been there twice, and we look forward to the next time. Food is really gourmet. Serving looks great. Service is very good and attentive. All in all really enjoyable - wine list also good.

We stopped in for a salad ... after dining strictly on fromage, wine and regional meat specialties for a few days. They don't do salads. So we were immediately immersed into one of the best dining experiences of our lives. I had the veal, which was to die for: tender, rosé, and accented with an absinthe sauce, and topped by... More

We found ourselves in Poitiers and, having seen this bistro on several previous visits, decided to lunch there. The outside tables are naturally in the shade which was necessary on such a hot day. The menu is comprehensive but we opted for the menu du jour which offered two courses for the remarkable value of €9.80/head. With a 50cl carafe... More

Unassuming restaurant but had a really great meal. Do not miss out on the Cafe Gourmond desert - beautiful. Service was attentive but not fussy.

We enjoyed a late supper in this busy bistro in downtown Poitiers. The food was of a very high standard but the service was really not very friendly. Perhaps the popularity of the restaurant with local people implies that tourists are not their intended clientele.

Our first night in France, jet lagged, but ready for extraordinary food to awaken the senses....and this charming bistro did not disappoint. We had the menu ardoise du soir (board menu), three delicious courses for 20 euros. My entree was a mushroom cake topped with foie gras, a delicately cooked fish in a sauce crevette for my main, and Pear... More

This may be my favorite restaurant of this trip to France. It is fairly small, but the decor is quite pleasing, and the prices are great. I had a wonderful multi-course, gluten-free meal served by a delightful, helpful young woman, and my husband said his meal was outstanding as well.

The mussel soup was amazing and duck confit rich and delightful. My sister loved her fois gras and hake with prawns. We both enjoyed our Rose and a lovely dessert...see photos. Friendly and gracious staff completed a lovely evening.

We were not disappointed by this restaurant, on the contrary! It was excatly what we were looking for: the friendly atmosphere of a French bistrot and the tasty and creative food of a good Chef. We chose the "ardoise du soir", delicious and artistically served dishes, and drank an excellent wine from Haut-Poitou, a red Cabernet. The waitresses were kind... More
