This restaurant offers tasty dishes, sometimes gourmet sometimes delicate, all very well balanced. The recipes surf between tradition and Asian touches, which gives a touch of refreshing originality very appreciable.
The service is very well cared for and handled our request to adapt the recipes to celiac disease (involving a strict gluten-free diet) of one of the guests. This is rare enough to be highlighted and we thank them again very much.
In short, a table that we highly recommend.

Had dinner here on Monday evening. We had the fish as a starter, the lamb chops as a main course, followed by a cheese board and a sweet dessert with espresso. Everything tasted wonderful.
We opted for wine by the glass and told the sommolier our preference. He served a rosé with the starter and a red wine with the main course, both of which were very well chosen.
Much is closed in Cognac on Monday evenings, so booking is essential. Le Maison is recommended, but it is pricey.

The setting of this restaurant is pretty, the staff is pleasant.
Starter: We were a little disappointed with the falafels to share which I found a little too dry and weak. I've had better falafels.
Dish: The dishes are extremely successful, the beef is one of the best I have eaten, the accompanying tomato steak was also successful, even if I have a little difficulty with this concept. The skate was perfect and well accompanied.
Dessert: The tomato is an original and fresh dessert, I just found it a little loaded with basil. The crème brûlée was very good.
However, I found the price a little high, probably explained by the quality of the raw materials.

No option to book on line, which would usually put us off, but the phone was answered quickly and they didn’t mind my basic french by repeating everything in English. Not sure what to expect mid week in January, however, we were delighted by the choice. The restaurant is decorated in cool relaxed tones, the staff really friendly and the food delicious. One of the highlights of our trip. Starters of langoustine and egg parfait were tasty with a good mix of flavours and textures. Main courses of beef and chicken were solid and desserts light and a good finish. Worth having the wine pairings chosen by the house. This is a definite recommend if you are in Cognac

Having received excellent reports from friends my wife and I decided to give it go one lunchtime in mid-September. I elected to have the menu of the day and my wife went a la Carte. Everything was absolutely top. Menus change regularly but the only guide I can give is that whether you choose the menu of the day or go a la carte you will be very pleased! This place is mentioned in the Michelin Guide and rightly so! Modern décor, charming staff and a very extensive wine list, what is not to like?

Full center of cognac, pretty decor, spaced tables. In short a place that makes you want.
At table level everything was very good, a very good cocktail with cognac (bravo to the bartender), well seasoned carpaccio, excellent beef fillet and my candied pork was to fall.
Dessert very good, even if the brie emulsion lacked vigor.
I forgot a Charente wine in Pinot Noir with Pepper Rating: the perfect little sapiens

First of all we made a reservation and asked about the menus. However as we love eating good quality and healthy dishes, we have liaised with Cedric the Front of House Manager to ensure that they could offer dishes that suit us. Cedric has been very understanding and was very keen to help us. The Starters were lovely and well executed we had the Salmon and the Falafel. As we had Tuna the night before and did not want to repeat again they offered to swap to the Maigre (Fish), which was well executed. We had the Cheese board which was excellent and the Pavlova for dessert. However we personally think the Starters were slightly pricey but overall Great Team, Atmosphere and We will be coming back. Fantastic menu du jour with family with a wonderful entre, plat and dessert for 34 euros each and excellent and creative French cuisine. The service was also excellent and the ambiance. I also enjoyed the professional advice from the sommelier regarding our wine choice (a local rose from the Charante region) and the cognac to compliment my dessert of red fruits. Very much a Michelin star restaurant.

Fabulous meal with great service and exquisite food. The wine by the glass pairing with the food was exceptional. The langoustine were cooked perfectly and all sauces very very good. The ambience of the restaurant is modern and welcoming. If you like gastronomique dining, this is for you.

Again I write as the food was & service the worst but its France so be expected. My late father was a master butcher . My advice dont eat meat in France & dont go to this restaurant if you are British , I'm Spanish but they didn't care . What you dont like fat , no on my meat I like meat . I really dont care about their opinion at this restaurant I just wanted decent food for what we were paying & we have travelled the world . French food is the worst they invented sauces to cover the rubbish they dish up , fact .

We went to La Maison after our friends in France had booked it for dinner on a Wednesday evening. When we arrived we were given a warm welcome at the door by the head waiter which was followed by excellent service at the table. We opted for 2 courses entrée and plat then decided to share a portion of cheese at the end . By the time we had the amuse bouches , the pre-entrée and the delicious homemade bread on top of the 2 courses we were pleasantly stuffed leaving just enough space to try a cognac. Would go back again if in the area .

Very good and reasonably priced food (especially for the lunchtime set menu). The setting is lovely and the service was great.
If I had to choose one place in cognac, I think if looking at food alone, poulpette is slightly bette. However, the service and atmosphere at la maisonette is slightly better so it depends on the day I guess.

We were very well received in this beautiful restaurant in the center of Cognac. A service worthy of the bill with careful cuisine, tasty wines and of course exceptional cognacs to finish in style! thank you again to the whole team for welcoming us without reservation because there were 9 of us

It is some three years since I was last at La Maison. Gosh! How it has changed. Gone is the silver service, lovely table cloths and traditional French food. It has been replaced with a very funky City wine bar feel with smaller snacking dishes, some with a strong Pacific fusion feel. The dishes are immaculately presented, carefully served and very tasty. 3 years ago, there were few lunchtime customers. Today, a Tuesday in mid-October, the place was packed. The wine list is extensive and extremely reasonably priced. Service is a little slow but all in all a very memorable lunch. Recommended.

We just walked down on a Wednesday evening and we’re made very welcome. The tuna to share was amazing. My husband had the pork and I had the steak. Both very good. Lovely atmosphere and good service. We tried a glass of two local white wines before moving onto red wine. The Sauvignon Gris was a lovely find!
