Popped in while walking to Saumur centre from Ibis Styles. Old fashioned proper cooking done extremely well for €20 for 3 courses and wine at €5 for 50cl pichet which was light and fresh. Lovely people as well.

Having been in France for a fortnight and having encountered too many traditional restaurants serving duck in the only two ways it comes, this restaurant was a revelation. We had the fish terrain and the porc with fraise sauce which sounds odd but was excellent, puddings rice with salted caramel sauce and ice cream with melon. A decent reasonable priced... More
I ate on Saturday evening and it was wonderful. Madame (husband is the chef) was great and welcoming. Delicious local wines. I had a salmon terrine starter and a lovely steak cooked just right with vegs and potato. Creme caramel for dessert finished it off. VERY reasonable and as I said, delicious.
Enjoyed a wonderful three course lunch with wine for €12.50. Very, friendly and full of local workers having lunch - always a good sign. We enjoyed every course but especially the apricot clafoutis. In fact, the food was much better (and three times cheaper) than a Michelin recommended restaurant we tried!
We found this restaurant by accident as we were staying at the Mecure Hotel which doesn't have a restaurant. It is within walking distance of the Mecure but as I have reduced mobility we popped round in the car as my brother had looked around before we went out and said there was plenty of parking all along the road... This family run Restaurant must do most of its business at lunchtimes as, at least in Autumn, it is only open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays and een so was not ery busy on my visit. I had a substantial salad with chicken and oats cheese and a main course of Lon de Porc accompanied with mushroom sauce, courgettes... More

We arrived minutes after they opened to find several tables already occupied - mostly by English speakers; but don't let that put you off :) - and it filled up nicely with a mix of locals and tourists. We started... More
We were staying at the Best Western and could have easily walked in to town - but chose this small (what I assume is a) family run place. Great value and quality plat du jour French cuisine. The waitress was charming and made us feel very welcome while handling 2 difficult large French family tables. This restaurant merits your support.
