Second time we go and perhaps better than the previous one, no B-flat, everything fantastic from the wine we were recommended was excellent, through the tasteful and perfectly prepared meat accompanied by a very fresh salad and exquisite fries, to dessert, the fondant of dulce de leche magnificent. All this accompanied by the friendliness and smile of the waiter and without waiting too long between plate and plate. For us 10/10.

Very well located on the liveliest square in Saumur in the city center, this restaurant is worth a stop, especially for the quality of the meat. The welcome is friendly, the service fast and well done. The prices may be a little high but certainly within the price range for this type of restaurant.

First time in Saumur and was attracted by dog friendly listing. It was chilly in September so eating inside was a priority. And we were warmly welcomed and seated in a small booth with only three tables which suited us fine.
We had the empanada and charcuterie to share. The entrecôte steak served medium rare was perfect.

After an intense visit to the Château de Saumur we came across this restaurant by chance while going down to the city center.
Menu mainly based on red meats (and pork) from South America (good quality therefore)
Salads are also offered for the more well-behaved.
Side dessert a limited choice but very good
In the end, a good address, with friendly and friendly service without being intrusive.
Reasonable price given the setting (around €20 for the main course, €9 for the dessert on average)

This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel where we were staying as my husband said he would like to eat steak for dinner. It was a 10 minute walk from our hotel and it was easy to get a table. The waiter/front of house was most helpful and able to advise about the best bottle of wine. I did notice that he struck up a rapport with all diners that evening. We 'experimented' with our Entree's but hubbie opted for the Entrecote and I had the pork. Both dishes were fabulous in terms of quality of meat, cooking and presentation. Weboth thought our respective dishes were the best grilled meat dishes we had ever tasted. The recommended wine was also fantastic. A wonderful meal experience for 2 confirmed 'foodies'

We have been to this place with our picky eater 5 years old daughter. We sat outside and it was very convenient for children to run around. The menu is nice, we ordered 2 entrees and 3 main dishes. The entrees were average but the main dishes were really good. My daughter loved the steak so this was a relief for us. I loved the burger and my husband loved his steak as well as the wine. We did not take dessert so no comment on these. There is public parking near by and the restaurant is placed on a very nice square so very enjoyable, definitely recommended.

Again, a superb meal, there were 7 of us this time, all of our steaks were cooked as we asked for, and were delicious, as always. Great service and ambiance, along with Le Terriers du Chateau they are our favourite places to eat in Saumur. Having lived here for 27 years we speak fluent french, but don't worry if you don't as English is spoken. Lovely couple who run it, and make you feel welcome. Highly recommended.

Our third steak in 2 weeks, and a relief... (first la bourse - horrible, second bistrot Les tontons passable).. this was delicious.. cooked perfectly, tender and tasty. Sauces weren't quite to our taste, but were fine. 3 of us all had fillet (2 petite, 1 medium size) all "a point" and perfectly medium.
1 dessert only - a waffle, was enjoyed.
Highly recommended.
We had this wine.. very mellow.

Passing through Saumur for the weekend. We arrived at the restaurant near great reviews on the Internet. We really weren't disappointed. the meat was a treat, the wine accompanied the meal. The welcome was perfect, we highly recommend this restaurant.

Went on an aimless wander through Saumur and came across the square with this restaurant in it. I was mostly looking for somewhere with good wine options, and Keating has a brilliant list of wines local to the region and Saumur in particular! They recommended me the Clos De La Mouche which was fantastic, and the ribeye was absolutely perfect. It seemed emptier than the other restaurants around, but do not be put off! The food is amazing, and the staff are lovely and helpful, even to a non-French speaker like me! 😂

Too so good 👍🏻 we loved it!! Quality products, super well prepared, the meat is incredible 👌🏼. The dishes are delicious and super beautiful 🤩 the service is fast, the staff is great too. The restaurant is pretty, clean, modern and well located at the foot of the church in the heart of the lively pedestrian streets with tables on the terrace. Prices are fair and correct

Our overwhelming feeling was good but not great. Very tasty food, but nothing unusual or exciting. The wine was disappointing, with little choice by the glass, although I did like their house Crémant. The service was notably the best thing about the place; very friendly and pretty efficient even if they did forget to bring water, bread and then mayo having said it was on the way. I would go again were it not that Saumur boasts so many other rather better places.

The quality and cooking of the steak was superb. Price for the meal was what I would expect to pay for a good quality filet steak. Starter and dessert also very good. Very good wine selection. The staff were very helpful and pleasant
