Did you ever ask yourself why the cuisine of Normandy is so famous? My bet: along the local produce, its crafts are outstanding. Dame cakes – a unique place for all who have a sweet tooth; I promise you'll love it! We've tried literally everything they had on display – and we didn't regret it. Ten out of ten!

Dame Cakes was just around the corner from where we were staying, and it just reopened after vacation on our final day in Rouen - what luck that was. This is an awesome Bakery and Dessert Shop. One of the guidebooks described it as travelling back in time to the Jane Austen era and that is not far off. Bone... More

A good lunch but the place was crowded. They might have done better to turn us away, but I'm glad they didn't. We enjoyed exquisite tarts with salad and refreshing fruit juices

While I have to stick to beverages and chocolates when I visit Dame Cakes (all the cakes, as the cute waitress reminds me, are made with milk and butter, to which I am allergic), I can admire the decadent concoctions that my wife and friend order. And besides, having tea in such an exquisite surrounding (across the street from the... More

Unbelievably perfect! Exceptional service, decor and location let alone the faultless food that took my breath away. I shall return again and again so great is this salon de the.

A perfect little spot just by the cathedral. It is so nice and quiet in the little garden area, with large parasols for shade. We had a two-course lunch, pie with camenbert and caramelized onions (highly recommended) and chocolat fondant. Good value, although perhaps a bit small portions for some. I believe they have a large selection of tea, and... More

In the stile of la petite black dress with apron - meets Strawberry Shortcake. A very good place with an outside terrace at the back. Good tea and lovely cakes and food.

We used the reviews on Trip Advisor to find somewhere for just cake and a cuppa and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing, very shabby chic design. They had a good range of different teas on offer (Marco Polo Vert is great). The cakes all looked superb and the ones we choose we gorgeous (chocolate brownie... More

It's very busy and very small downstairs. Nightmare with a baby, although the staff are charming. Great range of tea and a lovely orange cake.

Entering Dame cakes is like plunging into an idyllic tea room from the '800s. Although coffee leaves something to desire compared to Italian standards, the cakes (almond apple crumble and pistachio mandarin tarte) were decadent. Also, the chocolate confectionery at the entrance is worth a visit.
