This became our local "go to " cafe. We enjoyed ordering our " deux cafe au lait, sil vous plait." Which was always piping hot and delicious.

We entered after an afternoon tour to the D-day beach. It wasn't very busy. The food was good. I had the Croque Normande Madame and it was delicious. What stands out the most for me was the service. Our waiter was extremely friendly and courteous. Before going to France, we read that people say that French waiters are rude and... More

I stopped in for a beer and ended up having lunch after I saw the food being brought to the other tables. The croquet madame was good and the frites were excellent! Definitely a return to place. Prices were affordable too!

When you want eggs for breakfast instead of just cheese and bread, go here in Bayeux, on the main strip. We decided to go the second day rather than eating a cold breakfast at the hotel. Food comes out quick. Pointing to menus help - call eggs = Omelettes. Otherwise no one seems to know what le oeuf is -... More

We called in here several years ago - late afternoon, not a good time to ask about lunch, especially when a family group were rounding off some sort of celebration. We were told that the only thing on offer would be an omelette each: but it turned out to be an omelette that, for me, has set the benchmark for... More

We stayed in a hotel just next door to this bistro and used it 2 or 3 times in the week we were there - the food is excellent value for money and the staff are friendly.

We returned to this gem of a place, all three days that we were in Bayeux. All three times we were treated well, by very friendly staff, who were happy to let us test our limited French on them. Perfect for cappuccino and croissants

My wife and I stopped here for lunch. The sandwiches were good, in fact, they made mine fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful and were very tolerant of our limited French. Had we been in Bayeux longer, we would have gone back for lunch and tried it for breakfast.

We were staying at Lion d'Or and wanted to find an inexpensive but good breakfast. We stumbled on this little gem. The breakfast was standard French food, coffee with steamed milk, crusty French baguette, jam, orange juice and a fresh croissant. The woman running the cafe was very nice and efficient. Total cost was just under 7 Euros, very fair.... More

One of the cheaper places we found in The Bayeux , but there was a good selection and well priced clearly displayed specials. The food was good but what really made the establishment was the friendly staff who helped us with our questionable French and chipped in with their own questionable English; all this with smiles and laughter. A good... More
