This restaurant is so cosy and pretty inside. The menu offers good choices and various prices. The food is good and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately too many Americans eat here! We were seated near 2 noisy couples constantly talking about their wealth and where they had travelled. Thank goodness the food and wine was good.

Traveling with our 2 boys, ages 13 an 16, we tried to avoid anything too formal, but took a chance on La Fringale (in part because of TripAdvisor) and it ended up being one of our best meals. Primarily because of the service - attentive but not stilted and very accepting of our moderate French language skills. If you have... More

My husband and I had dinner here after our D-day tour and it was fabulous. We did not have a reservation, but we were greeted warmly and seated right away. We both had the French onion soup and the red mullet with basil cream sauce. Both were incredible. For dessert, my husband had the creme brulee and I had the... More

We have been to Bayeux 3 times - staying overall a total of 10 nights - and every night we dine at La Fringale. The waiters, Franc and Cyril, are fantastic and always friendly and welcoming when we arrive. They go out of their way to ensure we have a wonderful dining experience. We cannot wait to get back to... More

Wonderful starters and then we all decided on the beef bourguignon, and what a great choice. Followed by super desert. Endless amounts of bread to the table. House wine was fine for our taste. Around 15 Euro per 1 litre carafe. 3 course approx 15 Euro. Waiter was always having fun and nothing was too much trouble. Wish it was... More

My two brothers, mother and I dined at La Fringale two nights in a row in October. The staff, who all spoke English, were fantastic with excellent senses of humor. They would entertain our elementary efforts to speak French with a smile and help us when needed. The menus were in French/English. The customers were a mix of tourists and... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and in Rick Steves tour guide. They both were right! We were immediately made to feel welcome, and the servers were friendly, helpful and efficient. The menu offered a wonderful selection and the food was great! We liked it so much we ate here two nights while visiting Bayeux.

Had dinner once at La Fringale (would have eaten here another night but they were full--reservations are recommended). Service was friendly but not intrusive. We had their onion soup, salad mixte, beef bourguignon, and pork with cidre sauce. Main dishes came with fries, green beans and carrots or mushrooms. Also also liked their house white wine, and ice cream (our... More

My wife and I had dinner here, based on recommendations from our Rick Steves guide book, TripAdvisor and our hotel. The restaurant lives up to it's reputation. The food was very good and the service was excellent. It's a rather small place located right on the main street of Bayeux, just a few doors down from our hotel (Hotel Churchill).... More

The night we ate at La Fringale, the restaurant was full. We chose to eat outside, which was fine because the street was not heavily trafficked at that hour. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, and spoke English. There was a daily Menu to order from, which certainly was a good deal if you wanted to eat all of that... More
