We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service at Le Lion d'Or. Yes it is a hotel restaurant with the traditions which go with that (formally attired waiters etc) but the food is modern and the decor is simple but elegant. We would go again.

My dad and I stayed 3 nights in a suite at this hotel during a trip to Normandy. The suite was perfect for the both of us, a large bedroom and separate living room with pullout couch. The hotel is nicely renovated, clean, and centrally located within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Be mindful that there is no elevator!

We visited Lion d'Or as recommended by our B&B host, as he said this was one of his own favorite area restaurants. This was - hands down - the best dining experience we had while traveling through France, and we had many amazing meals. The food was excellent and the service even better. The staff were all so professional, yet... More

The food here was very good maybe slightly over priced, we had a drink in the bar area to start with, which gave us time to explore the menus. The waiting staff were sublime and very attentive.

As guests in the hotel, we opted to eat there the night before our early morning departure. We were not disappointed. Indeed, we were pleasantly surprised. Because the hotel was at low occupancy, we anticipated that the small dining room would be mostly empty on a Tuesday night. And we were wrong. Food was served by charming teenagers eager to... More

Traveled in Normandy with a huge group and Lion d'Or was very accommodating of our tour group. The servers were kind and polite, and the food was wonderful. I wish I could remember the names of what I ate, but the food was a delight. The best part though is the bar in the hotel, which has photographs of famous... More

We had dinner here one evening while staying at the hotel. The food and service were impeccable but worth the fine price.

We ate here our first night in Bayeux because we were staying at this hotel. It was good but not memorable.

At the centre of Bayeux, enjoy regional and seasonal products at the Lion d'Or Restaurant. This restaurant, at the heart of the Normandy region, gives guests the opportunity to try some of the specialities of this rich gastronomic area. Chef Jérôme Alix has designed several set menus as well as a generous à la carte menu. In the restaurant itself or on its terrace, you can savour suckling veal bred in Normandy, for example, before delving into a selection of local cheese and finishing in style with an apple Saint-Honoré cake, accompanied by a light Calvados cream and cider caramel.
