We have dined here in the past. The dining room was excellent as was the menu and service. When we went in March 2108, it had totally changed. After being seated and seeing the menu we walked out. Not what it used to be.

This is an old hotel which has lasted through generations. Be aware that there is no elevator. The staff was reluctant to help with luggage. It is historic and in a good location in the old part of town. The library/bar has pictures of many...More

We enjoyed a wonderful gourmet lunch of camembert tartlets, guinea fowl and poached pears with Normandy cider. I would recommend you pay the Lion d'or a visit and enjoy a wonderful gourmet lunch at a reasonable prices.

What a great restaurant! Unusual fare carefully prepared & presented. Charming setting. Attentive service. Many thoughtful touches. Full bar. Note narrow street and not the easiest parking in this area... An old hotel setting.. But worth your while. A really great dining experience. I had...More

Booked using the Fork app, food was superb a good selection. All the food was very well presented and tasted great. Service was very good with the waiter recommending wines to match the food ordered. Would go again.

We had a very enjoyable meal, however the staff were frantically rushing around and made us feel rather edgy. It was a shame as it created a not very relaxed atmosphere and slightly took the edge off what was otherwise an excellent birhday treat for...More

I took the usual three dishes menu, with some choices. All the dishes are very well presented, in general very good. They get paid enough for that, but you won't regret it. Same thing for the wine. The place is the restaurant of a high...More

Charming location, good snug bar area, smart dining room, excellent outdoor seating. We had the set Regional Menu. It was well delivered and tasted very good. The portions were not huge (even considering it is fine dining). However it was a good meal overall. The...More

Another highly rated restaurant from Google Maps and the Bayeux tourist brochure. The restaurant is part of the hotel with the same name and tucked away off the main street so very quiet. There is a nice patio and also tables available inside. The food...More

Description
At the centre of Bayeux, enjoy regional and seasonal products at the Lion d'Or Restaurant. This restaurant, at the heart of the Normandy region, gives guests the opportunity to try some of the specialities of this rich gastronomic area. Chef Jérôme Alix has designed several set menus as well as a generous à la carte menu. In the restaurant itself or on its terrace, you can savour suckling veal bred in Normandy, for example, before delving into a selection of local cheese and finishing in style with an apple Saint-Honoré cake, accompanied by a light Calvados cream and cider caramel.
