As Americans, we found this place quite interesting. Some reasons why: we sat at a community table and chatted with some locals during the meal; the kind lady serving us had some comments about our order and how little we ate; and they have interesting fare, like duck hearts. The food was obviously high quality, but be mindful that the... More

This restaurant is right above the market in Toulouse and has outdoor seating overlooking the street. They offer fantastic value during lunch - a 3 course menu for 19 euro, and a 3 course menu with different dishes for 26 euro. We took the 19 euro menu and were absolutely stuffed! we couldn't even finish the desserts. The bavette cut... More

You can find this little gem above the market amongst another few restaurants which to be honest all looked pretty good. Firstly! They close at around 1:30 mid week and are closed all day Monday. So get there early and get a seat on the balcony. The food is really good, home made quality and plenty of it for a great... More

Victor Hugo Market restaurants are famous and I selected this one because a pretty waitress smiled at me. Ate at noon so declined the offer of an aperitif or wine. Had a mushroom pate starter which was quite bland followed by entrecôte steak in a tasty wine sauce. The French version of medium-rare with blood oozing from it. Yummy! The... More

I ate here once before with a severe hangover during a rugby tour, but went back to see what it was like sober. The restaurant is above the market, and bustles. We managed a seat and were rewarded with good wholesome food. I had the soupe de poisson, my colleagues had the cassoulet avec cuisse de canard. Both were plain... More

I hate busy places but this place for Sunday lunch away from the kids was excellent. Great service from hard working and attentive staff. Terrific food (lots of it) for a reasonable price. From my experience I could not find fault

We had the fixed price lunch here and were surprised that the restaurant was fairly quiet. Perhaps we were just early. The food was average, though the servings were large. The service was functional, but not very friendly. All in all an adequate lunch, but nothing special.

there are 5 restaurants on the first floor of the market Victor Hugo, but this one is definitely the best rated and most popular. Make sure to be there latest by 11.45h, if you want to get a table for lunch. There are some tables on the gallery outside, looking down on the street. Inside, you will be squeezed in... More

THis restaurant is located upstairs over the Victor Hugo market, along with a number of other restaurants and diners have the option of eating either indoors or outdoors on the long narrow terrace, depending on the weather. All items on the menu are sourced from the various meat, vegetable, fruit and seafood stalls located underneath in the market. I would... More

Had lunch with friends trying the foie gras on toasted bred, duck wing with a apple sauce, all together with some nice white wine. Nice and rustic cooking, nothing fancy but tasty and plenty. Will come back.
