Start with the perfect, melt in your mouth, foie gras. The lamb chops with toes of roasted garlic are absolutely delicious. The 19€ menu featured a marvelous fricassé of porc with a rich gravy. This remains our favorite restaurant in Cahors.

Based on the most recent Trip Advisor review, we chose to have our last meal in the Cahors area here after a week on the Lot in a penichette. Which was rather special in itself. Menus in the area can feel rather familiar so we needed to escape duck confit and large prawn tempura sounded like just the job. And... More

Went for €42 menu. Exceptional prawn tempura. Steaks - I normally have well done. The offer was only rosé or à point (rare or medium). So I went with à point. It was crispy and browned on the outside and slightly pink in the middle. Perfectly cooked with an amazing foie gras sauce. Best steak ever. Moelleux was warm, rich... More

Located a few Km outside of Cahors, this restaurant offers superb food in a delightful setting. The friendly and very professional service completes the package and, in our case, ensured that we had our most memorable evening in the Cahors / Lot valley region. The restaurant is located in what appears to be a barn conversion - massive stone walls,... More

We understand that the restaurant is a husband wife team, with the with the wife in the dining room, and the husband in the kitchen. The food was fresh, and tasty and our hostess was so charming and fun. (She even put up with my terrible French). I had tuna, which was prepared simply and was delicious. The room is... More

From our 3 week trip in France this year, this was our best restaurant. It is outside the city about 10 min but well worth the trip. The couple who run it are extremely good. The hostess is very pleasant. The food was extremely tasty and well presented. The setting in an old stone barn is most interesting. Just wish... More

We greatly enjoyed our visit. Every course was very fine, and two were extraordinary. The proprietor/server was gracious and easily accommodated our requests.

We always dine at La Garenne when we are in S.W. France. Michel Carrendier is a marvelous chef who creates delicious honest French food. His sautéed foie gras is fabulous. My husband dreams of the chestnut soup. I loved a light soup with asparagus & a poached egg. The scallops are well-prepared. The restaurant is in a lovely old barn... More

What a marvellous way to greet the New Year. Our first visit but recommended by friends (and TripAdvisor). This was a set menu which I can only describe as 'exceptional'. Service by the lovely Jacqueline started at 20h30 and finished, perfectly timed, at midnight. The food was without fault and the wine list is surprisingly reasonable. We will certainly return..yumm!

Had not been for a while but wanted our "Christmas lunch treat". What a lunch! We both had the soup to start which was a parsnip purée with seared scallops , walnuts and smoked duck. WOW. Then for me line caught bar with a crispy skin. Very sublime. My husband had an omelet with fresh truffles and claimed it was... More
