A pleasant restaurant but the food was quite average. Most of the tables were having steak and chips, the latter looked frozen which is always a disappointment. I was feeling courageous and had the andouiette, a tripe sausage for my main course, possibly not the...most sensible option after a long drive and the waitress was kind enough to ask if I was sure. I was determined and was rewarded with a very pleasant savory treat. Nothing to rave about overall but nothing major to criticize either.More

They are indeed good in serving the farm (ferme) food. My order is the duck (as taken in the uploaded picture). Both terrines and sausages are also good. And the dish size is what people would just need after burning some calories in the palace....Price is also a factor to be favorably considered - we paid less than €90 for three adults.More

We were recommended to try the restaurant by our B&B host at Les Versailles and it did not disappoint. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious, the service attentive and friendly, and the prices very reasonable. The setting is cosy with a good atmosphere, not...too noisy, and with a magnificent Oak-beam ceiling. We went for the three course 'Entrée + Plat ou Plat + Dessert' for €24,70 each with a 50cl wine . Great value.More

Really good place Near the Potager du Roi, open Sundays. The owner is very sweet and helpful. I had the hangar steak which was fantastic and the salad with walnuts and melted Camembert which was divine. Great, casual place and the food is wonderful- great...price also!More

After driving up in the rain, having a GPS issue for our apartment ( and lugging up our suitcases 5 floors) we walked down rue Marchal Joffre stopping in at the first restaurant. And we are glad we did - service attentive, translated the menu...to English and the food was great. After a week in the Loire Valley we were not sure that the quality would transfer to a larger city. But our concerns were unfounded. He had fois gras and steak frites, I had carpaccio and the fish special. All were cooked perfectly and delicious. The wine list was limited but reasonably priced. We just might go back depending on our schedule.More

I ate here on a Thursday evening, on arrival I received a very warm and friendly greeting. I had booked on line as a solo traveller I wanted to make sure I had somewhere for dinner. Initially I couldn’t find the restaurant on google maps...so phoned them. A very friendly young lady explained how I could get to the restaurant in English, a bonus as my French is very limited. It’s a characterful place with rustic charm. I was shown to my table at the back of the restaurant, perfect to watch the comings and goings of guests and soak up the ambience without feeling like I was alone. A kir Royale, about €6 to start with a carafe of excellent house rose , about €10. My starter main and desert options were expertly explained to me in English by the young lady who had directed me to the restaurant. For starter I had goats cheese Provençal , served in a ceramic dish the goats cheese sits on the Provençal sauce , with salad and French bread. Simple but absolutely delicious. Then a steak with fries and salad, cooked to my liking and served with a delicious sauce. To end I had cheese and more French bread. Total cost was around €48, so taking off the drinks around €32, not bad for a restaurant in central Versailles which had a number of walk ins as well as bookings, I feel very lucky to have enjoyed the hospitality offered to me. Highly recommended, booking advisable.More
