Did you come for lunch or for dinner (it is impossible here to know who writes comments)? Did you look around you who our clients are? Here is the answer based on years of experience: regular French and regular foreign clients living in the Paris...More
We had two wonderful meals at this charming, intimate bistro. Both times we chose the three-course dinner: starter, entree, and dessert. The first night we enjoyed leg of lamb with rosemary sauce and pork tenderloin with a mustard sauce (the evening’s special). Both were cooked...perfectly. We followed the owner’s wine recommendations which were excellent accompaniments to the dinners. We enjoyed dinner so much that we made reservations for a second dinner several nights later. The second visit did not disappoint. Tonight we enjoyed the special, a mixed grill of lamb, beef and pork tenderloin and the duck confit. Once again everything was delicious. We started with foie gras and escargots (I know, it’s a cliched choice but it was so delicious we couldn’t resist). Dessert was a tarte tatin and profiteroles. We enjoyed a lovely Cote du Rhone with dinner. The dinner is prix fixe, but very reasonable (38 euros) with a 7 euro up-charge for the foie gras. The service was excellent, attentive, and very friendly. Highly recommend trying this bistro.More
This was our second time visiting this restaurant and will be our last. The food is good, not great - both times, the duck and steak were overcooked, but the fish and onion soup were very good. However, it is the arrogance of the manager...that we cannot get past. We noticed it on our last visit several months ago but overlooked it. We quickly noticed this time that he could barely be bothered to service the tables occupied by tourists, but spent an excessive amount of time at the table with locals. The tipping point though was when my teenage daughter got up to use the WC and could not immediately find it. She asked the manager in French where it was located and he answered her in English, so loudly we were able to overhear at the front of the packed restaurant, “we have electricity and plumbing in the back, and a bathroom.” We can tolerate a bit of an ego but to intentionally embarrass a minor child, let alone a paying customer, is truly unacceptable.More
From what I saw during our dinner there, and from what I understand, the restaurant is highly rated by Americans rather than French people. The dishes are good but do not deserve an excellent grade. It's a shame for the meat to come from the...Netherlands when we know how great French meat is. I won't come back.More
We acknowledge receipt of your comment. Did you see that we have comments from visitors from many countries including 1st France (look carefully). We are surprised if you believe that some opinions are not relevant when they come from citizens from overseas. This is shocking....More
Delicious food in a quaint little restaurant off the beaten path. Service was great, had a local vibe and plenty of options on the menu.
Took my Granddaughter to Bistrot Chez Paris for her first dinner in Paris. She loved the onion soup and steak with bernaise. I had delicious lamb and poached pear for dessert. Lovely staff who spoke English.
We went for dinner to Chez France and we had a very peculiar experience. We had been walking trough Paris all day so we were tired and starving. Therefore, we were very happy to happen upon the aforementioned bistro. At first. However, our excitement changed...to dissapointment and frustration very quickly. The manager of the restaurant assumed at first that we didn't speak french. My partner doesn't, but I was raised bilingually. As a result, I speak French fluently. In spite of having notified the manager of this, he still proceeded to ridicule our native Dutch language behind our backs. According to the manager, the Dutch language contains a lot of harsh and ugly 'Gggggggg' - sounds. Apart from us there was just one table occupied in the restaurant, therefore it was very quiet in there. I cannot comprehend the reasoning of the manager in ridiculing us in French in a nearly empty restaurant, in spite of having conversed in French with me previously. The rest of the evening he continued to gossip and rant about tourists and other customers. In conclusion, we were rather disappointed with the behaviour of the manager. His apparent hospitality turned out to be a cynical trick to lure tourists in, as well as their wallets. In our opinion, you can't be bitching about tourists while gladly accepting their money. We fled the restaurant as soon as we could and ate our dessert elsewhere.More
"Life is a play" (Charlie Chaplin). Would a restaurant be a little play with a story being spontaneously written in an hour or so, with no preparation? Would both staff and clients be actors? This is a tempting theory. And of course the show is...More

Not big restaurant. Local friendly bistro! Staff are all smiling and very friendly. Meals are so tasty of course! Highly recommended!!
Warm, friendly, casual—a perfect way to end our week in Paris. Very reasonably priced for a fine duck and pork dinner and scrumptious desserts with a dozen delicious escargots for an appetizer. Good wine and kir royales, great service and the ideal host. Highly recommend.
Really delicious food. My husband said the lamb was the best he can remember and he eats it often. I had a bite and is was so tender with a perfect jus. I had the fish special with a perfect burre blanc. I did not...want to have dessert but saw the profiteroles come out and so I ordered them. Really wonderful. All 3 courses for €36, incredible.More

We have been in Europe for 23 days and today is the 1st time I had an amazing French meal! Thanks to Regis who was so wonderful host, We will be back again!11
Amazing food, great atmosphere, and friendly, efficient service. We popped in here simply because it was over the road from our hotel. The menu is short, and you are given a choice of 2 or 3 courses. Given the location the prices are very reasonable....Both my husband and I thought our meals were amazing - very fresh, perfectly cooked and tasty without being complicated or overly fussy. Perfect French cuisine without all of the nonsense. Wine list was great and the owner was very friendly. Highly recommend this place.More
