I ate at Pizzeria Da Carmine on July 5th 2015 with some friends. The waiter was rude, the food was bad (overboiled canned ravioli with some creamy supermarket sauce, pizza just average). When paying at the cashier, I first paid by credit card and input my pin code, the machine showed payment was accepted. The cashier asked me to put... More

Huge interesting salads and good looking pizzas. Not great cuisine but honest, ample fodder. The house wine is OK but nothing more. If the waiter is asked nicely, almost apologetically, I am sure he would arrange for meat/fish to be omitted. I suspect the idea of vegetarian cheese is rather foreign here. Not too bad for veggie fodder in Paris.

This is a typically Italian restaurant very popular with the locals and Italians. Simple, basic decor with a number of tvs (showing football and election results when I was there). Great value, good service and an offer of a grappa or limoncello before leaving. Highly recommend it if it's a pizza you're after. And the pasta I saw float past... More

Shared a Regina, small size with a friend. The guy working had enough English for us to order and pay. The pizza was ready in about 10 minutes and was delicious. The small size was enough for two girls to share. If I was in the mood for pizza, I'd go back. For around €13 it was good value too.

The pizza is well made but not spectacular as they don't have a wood fired oven (legal in Paris?). I also had a salad with mozzarella which was very good. Quite lively, definitely not spot for a romantic encounter ... But as pizza goes the best I have had so far in Paris. Also these are real Italians from the... More

I had a really bad experience at this pizzeria. I ordered a special menu that said pizza + dessert = 15euros. I asked the server if I could take any pizza or it's only specific pizzas; he told me I could take any, so I took the 4 cheese pizza. And I asked for water with it, no drinks. A... More

The food here is really good and if you order the Da Carmine special you get something between a pizza and a calzone! Genius! The portions are pretty large so come when you're hungry. Service was really friendly and we were offered free liquors before leaving.

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
