Recommended by our hotel, we had the best meal of our trip. It is a little difficult to find, the setting makes it special. Expect an old rustic French building with a warm hearth of a several hundred year old working fireplace. The service was top notch, the food was all just oh-la-la tasty with more selections than I had... More

Excellent authentic French food. We were a couple dining and we had a main and desert and both were lovely. Large selection of wine and a small selection of bottled beers. The setting is beautiful with exposed stonework and open fires but it is cosy. Slightly on the pricier side but by no means expensive.

Went with my girlfriend and had 3 courses a la carte which all were simply Brilliant. The service was fluent in English and very helpful. I had the home made foie gras, the beuf bourguignon and a chocolate dessert all of which left nothing to desire. Portions were sufficient and by no means small. The price tag is not cheap... More

Classic French food in a rustic and charming environment. Seems to delight a lot of Parisians since we were surrounded by french speaking guest only. The duck along with potato-tartar, orange flavored steak sauce and a bottle of Pinot Noir made the evening into success!

Cosy nostalgic ambience with good service. Food tasted very good. We came as a group of 7 and ordered their mains (Salmon and Duck Confit) with selection of desserts (Creme Brûlée and Chocolate Mousse). Taste is excellent!

Just how you imagine at traditional French restaurant to be, this was my second visit, both times the food was excellent, I went here with work colleagues but it would be great for a romantic evening with your partner, a very old rustic building with nooks and crannies and large open fires, apparently parts of the building date back to... For our first night in Paris after arriving on the train from London, I wanted something classic, simple an comfortable. Le Coupe Chou fit the bill to a tee. It is in a quite old historic building. We were seated on the first floor by the fire place- very cozy. Service was attentive. Our waiter spoke enough English and they... More

Visiting Paris for the first time. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. The ambiance, service, apps, wine and entres were excellent. Reasonably priced given the location and quality.

This is a beautiful restaurant and it's a tad harsh to give it Average. In their defence we were not the typical customers, 9 of us with ages ranging from 10 to 60 but having said that it's a restaurant and they should be able to facilitate any customer. The service was slow, 40 minutes before food order taken (the... More

This is a restaurant with a traditional French menu with duck and beef bourginon as firm favourites with customers the night we were there. The cosy atmosphere that many other reviewers remark on should come with a health warning, there are numerous stairs and steps to navigate here and its not a place for the old or infirm. The journey... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
