Everything is top of the top - place, food, service, value for the money. We had a 6 course tasting menu including matching wines for 198 per person. There were probably 8-9 courses actually, Charles Heidsieck champagne to start and finish and THAT cheese tray......(Cheese for extra money)More

Went there for a celebration dinner with a colleague. Table and decor were a bit underwhelming for a 2 star, looked a bit old and very woody. But once the food and wine started to flow my god! Truly an amazing experience, some dishes are...clearly 3 star Michelin level (the quenelles, the langoustines). Great food, great service, and I have to say one of the most unusual and best wine selection I ever had. Congrats to the sommelier, bold and deeply knowledgeable. A fantastic culinary experience, way better than what we expected going in. Thank youMore

What a joy to find Rostang back in its stride after our disappointing post-lockdown triple-birthday visit last year! The service is back to its usual friendly efficiency and the menu has become more inventive. The entrees were excellent and diverse: micro-tastes surrounding core themes of...tuna and cucumber; lobster; succulent red mullet. The main course staple of Jo Rostang’s quenelles as satisfying as ever - slightly tighter texture compensated by slightly lighter rice and that exquisite lobster sauce. And for desert: the unmissable « cigare » with a glass of Rasteau; an apricot souffle (very light and accomplished but not quite as stunning - or as rich - as its caramel cousin); and a little perfection of rhubarb, sablé and raspberries. Congratulations on your return to form, and wishing you every success as the dining world returns to normalMore

Rostang has been a birthday lunch staple for years, and was sorely missed during the French « confinement ». We finally managed to get there this week to celebrate three « locked-down » birthdays at once. And perhaps we had been dreaming and looking forward to it too much,...as the reality was a little disappointing. We went as usual for the classic good value set menu lunch with wine accompaniment. Started well with a choice of champagnes and the trusted sardine rillettes. Of the entrees, the fricassee of girolles was the most interesting - but we were all formulaically served the same Pinot Gris: good but not always an imaginative pairing. Then two of « Jo Rostang’s » classic quenelles, and a guinea fowl for the main course. The latter went well with the red burgundy; the former frankly not a natural match. For dessert we had pre-ordered the caramel and praline souffle (not on the menu) and one of the Cigares (on the menu). A deliciously subtle rhubarb arrangement completed the trio. And again the wine offering was formulaic - a southern french white vin doux was fine with the rhubarb but would have been lost with the Cigare - so I asked for a Banyuls instead and was almost dismissed. I have the greatest sympathy for all restaurants that have emerged from Covid challenges; most to which I have been since lockdown have been at their warmest and most welcoming, with staff pleased to see customers coming back, with a certain community complicity of celebrating making it through the initial tough months. Rostang was sadly cold and matter-of-fact. The new, slightly austere maitre d’hotel lacks the jovial charm and emotional subtlety of his predecessor; the atmosphere was more commercial, rather than warmly familial. The rather casual lack of choice on the wine pairings was a bit of a shock. Foodwise, nothing to reproach - except perhaps slightly heavier quenelles than usual - missing that airy quality that made them such a wonderful match with the lobster sauce. So it is really the front-of-house style that brings my usual 5 stars down to 4. With the hope that as the months of covid confinement become a memory, the warmth will return.More

I should know by now that I don't like this type of food: it's more like the product of a chemistry department than a kitchen. The food reminds me of the stuff you get in The Fat Duck in Bray. Having said that, everything else...about the restaurant is perfect: staff are great (they took away the food I couldn't eat), the ambince is lovely. Shame about the food that is so messed around.More

my wife and i had the good fortune to have lunch at Rostang on 03 january 2020. this was my 4th visit to the restaurant. as always, it was excellent. rostang prepares excellent classic french food. i have been to many starred places in france,...spain, germany. rostang compares favorably to auberge de l'ill, relais louis xiii, auberge de pont de collonges (paul bocuse). you will be warmly greeted, the dining room is like stepping into a friend's well appointed townhouse. this is for certain one of the best restaurants in france! everything is expertly prepared. the lunch menu is an exceptional value. please go!More

I went to Maison Rostang for lunch with my parents and we enjoyed probably one of the best tables in Paris, plus with their lunch menu, it is truly the best deal you can find for such a wonderful meal. The langoustine and the veal...were exquisite, the service was phenomenal and the attention to detail was on point. It was one of the best experiences I have had in a restaurant, and they definitely deserve their two Michelin stars, and I would not be surprised if they get a third! Both chefs (M.Rostand and M.Baumann) were there to salute their customers, and there when we left to thank us. Every detail was perfect. Thank you and I will be back, and I will bring more people there.More

I went while in Paris for business and decided in advance to treat myself and have some nice food also.. I like to try out good food wherever I go, and I know what I like and do not like service-wise. This time I wasn´t...dissapointed. We (me and a friend), had the tasting menu (8 courses) with wine pairings - as I like to try out nice wine and want the wine to go with the food rather than have a bottle of red that would then go with every dish (that bottle I rather happily sip on its own afterwards or on another night, at worst). Well, the food turned out to be great, with several nibble dishes and amuse bouche(s) on the side. The wine was great too, and the service was impeccable - and thankfully with no sign of French arrogance accompanying it! We had a nice view over the kitchens, and as I lika watching the chefs "at work", that was perfect. I would definitely go again.More

We treated ourself with a reservation for dinner at Maison Rostang and what a dinner. Service was excellent and smooth, dishes’ presentation was meticulous and tasted exquisitely. I wasn’t confident at first because of the decoration which is very classy but old school however the...chefs got me overwhelmed at the first amuse bouche. Wines served really enhanced the experience. My preference to night was for for the Viré-Clessé on the “tourteau et le caviar”. Thanks a lot Maison Rostang for this rememberable evening.More

I have eaten here twice, the first time was an experience that had new experiences and interesting surroundings. The second time was more...expensive and a disappointment, the food wasn't as good even though it was the same menu and the service had slipped.More
