Staying in the Marais for a few days to celebrate my Dad's 85th birthday. Imaginative menu, excellent food, well presented by friendly staff. The scallop risotto and beef cheek were stand out favourites. €50 per head including wine. I'd go back tomorrow.

We went there ecuse of a recommenadtion in our guide book and they were right. We enjoyed the very authentic french appetiziers and main dishes with good wine. The restaurant was well attended and one should make a reservation before showing up. But we were lucky and a group of people let us join their table. The staff was very... More

You're not gonna spontaneously walk by this one, as its at the end of several very small streets maybe 8 blocks from the Bastille circle/Metro stop, and nowhere near any active retail corridor. Finding it is sort of fun though, if you're not in a hurry. Yes, it is small but not shoebox small, maybe seating for 30 tops. We... More

We came for dinner and were seated right away. It is a little tight, but charming and as it was late March, nice and warm. Not a huge menu selection, but adequate and we all enjoyed our dinner so much we came back two nights later!

The good Lady and I visited Saturday night, we loved it. I do not speak a word of French but the staff were great and went through the menu with us. I can imagine people walking straight past this little gem without noticing it.... don't. I had foie gras with celery risotto to start the good Lady had onion soup... More

This is a great restaurant; the space is limited and a bit tied, be sure to reserve with time. The food was just amazing; this was the best food that we had in Paris.

The warm ambiance bustles with happy patrons at tables close to each other while enjoying well made classics such as piping hot Escargots à la Bourguignonne with plenty of crusty baguette slices and Entrecôte de Boeuf served perfectly rare with grilled shallots and mustard. Aperitifs include the delicious Suze, the bittersweet herbal liqueur served on the rocks. The carte des... More

During our 6 day stay in Paris, this was the best meal we had all along. Real traditional french cuisine cooked with alot of skill and love. The portions are very rich, so think twice before ordering a dessert. On the other hand, the desserts are great too. We managaed to squeeze down a crème brûlée and a tarte tatine... More

We visited the restaurant on a Saturday night, during a family weekend in Paris. The restaurant is rather small, with around 14-15 tables (sitting 2 people per table) so an earlier booking is recommended. We were with kids, and the staff was very friendly with our kids. They speak very good English and are willing to explain everything that is... More

the menu is a bit limited, with no vegetarian options, but everyone liked their food. My friend had the tuna millefeuile, which was large and beautifully presented (if a bit too pricey at EUR 23). I had the lentil and ham salad (EUR 8) as my main. The server said it had sauteed mushrooms too, but it didn't. Bread was... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
