We had a fabulous supper at Le Petit Retro. The setting is traditional French bistro, however the staff were young and relaxed (white shirts, bow ties, ripped jeans). There was a great soundtrack playing, funky 60's/70's, but it was not intrusive. Delicious, traditional bistro food (best chips I've ever had), and generous portions.

Décor very pretty but good but food a disaster Salade niçoise a joke Best of bistro entrée had obviously been sitting around for hours Carottes and céleri drying up whilst leeks swimming in water Ris de veau accompanied by a huge stodgy dollop of luke warm potato Onglet de boeuf and frites ok Tuna with sesame fine Not inspired to... We went in without a reservation and from that point we felt like second class citizens. Seemed like they were mostly interested in serving the locals or those with previous reservations. A paying costumer is a paying costumer regardless of status. It seemed like we were doing them a favor when it's the other way around. Food was good otherwise.

What a great place for our first evening in Paris! The food, wine, atmosphere and service were top notch! Listening to Claudine Longet while dining on perfectly prepared French cuisine, and sipping delicious wine, one can't ask for anything more! Thank you Gregory and team for offering such wonderful hospitality and personalized service while we were your guests! We hope... More

Old style bistrot, with a lot of charm. Food is decently priced and good. The service was however pathetic. Ignorant and forgetful waitresses, who could not care less. No wonder the place seems a lot less popular than it used to be.

Only in Paris 4 nights, went here twice. Lobster ravioli and chicken were excellent. Good wines, fair prices. Highly recommended.

I like the decoration of the restaurant. They offer traditional French cuisine. The service is friendly.

Take a step into 1950 Paris. The various rooms of this restaurant throw you back to a different era and there is something charming about the nostalgia trip. But... This is about the only great thing about this restaurant. The food is mediocre (both ingredients and preparation), the service is inattentive (owner and staff more interested in chatting with their... More

Had a nice time for diner with friends in Paris. Its was a first for all of us. Our local friends chose the place as it was close to our hotel and reviews were decent. The food was nice, the menu was varied enough with French classics and the cocktails were good. The staff ok, they seem to rush us... More

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the neighbourhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendour, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
