I enjoyed the house aperitif, followed by the day soup, which was delicious. And that was it. My main of the day, pork stuffed cabbage on a bed of rice was far from perfect. As a start, there was hardly any cabbage around the stuffing, which had the fine ground consistency of a meatloaf, far too salty with too many... More

We discovered this restaurant by chance walking past on an earlier evening, and the selection of dishes and prix-fixe menus looked very attractive... and the look was 'classic French'. We arrived at about 9:00pm and were not disappointed! The head waiter greeted us, and despite my attempt at O-level French, welcomed us in perfect English. We loved the ambience -... More

We selected this restaurant as it was very conveniently located around the corner from our hotel, and had good reviews online. We visited on a Tuesday evening around 7:00pm. I got the feeling based on opening times that this is relatively early for dining in Paris, and there were not many guests in the restaurant when we arrived. The upside... More

We had just finished a fun time at Harry's New York Bar and ask the bartender for a restaurant recommendation. He gave us a card for Le Mesturet. Upon arrival we were told that they had no dining tables due to the Beaujolais Nouveau Festival dinner. We said that they were recommended by Harry's. We were asked to wait one... More

Three times I have visited Paris and three times I have been to this restaurant with different companions. Great value and friendly staff - special greetings to Alain from Tallinn! If I ever go back to Paris I know the one place I'm sure to revisit.

Hungry after travelling all day and happy to stumble into a friendly, buzzy local restaurant. But here, the food gets second billing. Crayfish dumpling starter was tepid and went back to the kitchen. The fried potatoes with the steak were barely warm. And they saved the best for last. The nice looking five cheeses for dessert were straight out of... More

As a Paris & France travel writer, I look for dining places that are delicious, affordable, and accessible. I found Le Mesturet on my trip last month to Paris. I find it to be a local favorite in the 2nd arrondissement near the Opera--and a charmer for visitors as well. Good food, efficient service, and a wonderful chance to rub... More

After completing our amazing "Paris in One Day" tour, we headed back to our hotel to change. It was already a bit late, so we asked the hotel guest agent for some restaurant recommendations. We asked for something more on the casual side that offered especially good desserts. She recommended Le Mesturet, which was only a short walk away. For... More

Description
Le Mesturet is a classic Parisian bistro located in the heart of Paris between the Grand Boulevards and the Louvre Museum.Passionate about what they do, Alain Fontaine, the owner, and his chef, Pascal Brot, are the creative forces behind Le Mesturet’s traditional French cuisine. With the help of their energetic dining room and the kitchen teams they have created an exceptional restaurant where you can enjoy lunch and dinner. You will love our typical French dishes, home-made desserts, wine menu filled with discoveries and bistro atmosphere. We have two air-conditioned dining areas available for large groups, anniversaries and other events: there is our main dining room, decorated in a cosy “old Paris” style, which seats 86 as well as an additional dining room that seats 30. Welcome !

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
