We came here to try the Poule au Pot and it didn't disappoint. I was actually quite unwell when we went and needed something wholesome and the dish was perfect for what i needed. There was probably enough to feed 2 people but I scoffed...More

Staff is friendly. Food is very good and typical French. Would highly recommend the Poule au Pot for a "lighter" option

We ordered the fried Camembert, lamb shanks, canard de confit, the profiteroles and a bottle of wine. The food was great. Cons - expensive, no children's menu (not even French fries!!), ordered lemonade but it was tonic water. Atmosphere - too 'stuffy', our waiter whilst...More

Situated next to Les Halles, the Poule au pot is a hidden gem. The food served here is what Frenchmen call "grandma's food", so it is very traditional. The service is great and you feel comfortable immediately. I had the menu for 40 euros: a...More

Don't go all the way to France and miss eating a proper French meal. This is the perfect spot to experience it all. I recommend that you order off of the menu board hanging from the ceiling in the center of the room - look...More

Very authentic, during our visit all other clients were locals. Food was very good - tried chicken Henry IV, entrecôte, cheese assortment, etc. For four people with plenty of food and few drinks we spent around 150 euros. Staff was very friendly and helpful, they...More

We have had many delicious meals in Paris, but none better and none as typically Parisian as at La Poule Au Pot. We went to a concert at Sainte Chapelle first, and we wanted a restaurant that stays open late, so that we wouldn't get...More

I found this place to be exceptional. Great food without a lot of fluff, fancy, or bullcrap. This is downhome french cooking. Maybe a bit more tourists than locals... but full endorsement for a wonderful meal. I had the chicken and rice; my wife ate...More

We had a great meal here and the service was fantastic. The waiter made excellent recommendations and we had lovely local dishes. The owner even called and got us a reservation at a local jazz club for after dinner. Highly recommend. Make sure to have...More

Proper French cuisine. I ate the chicken with morrel mushrooms and my husband had the Poule Au Pot. Really good honest local food. Worth a visit.

I'd have to agree with Mary Lou. It's a beautiful place with lovely food so if your children are of an age to appreciate it then it should be fine. Not really ideal for Toddlers or young babies.
Is it usually necessary to make a reservation late at night, for example after 11pm on a Tuesday? We are going to a show and we do not know what time it will finish.

I would call and explain the situation. They speak English. We anticipated being later than we were, so we arrived 40 minutes before our reservation (after a show). We had to wait 5-10 minutes, and then they seated us... More

Open all night from 7pm to 5am , you are welcome in an authentic 1930's restaurant where stands a beautiful old "zinc". Do not be surprised to meet international stars because the owner Paul Racat who looks after this Parisian institution has built a solid reputation.
