Very pretty Parisian brasserie with a nice atmosphere like there are several in Paris. Plain seafood platter and disappointing decoration of the dish. The sea urchins were not good and filled with black mud for €9 per sea urchin. There were 8 of us and we were all very disappointed with the meal and the service.
The head waiter made the wrong dish or drink 4 times. These errors have been corrected but what a lack of professionalism!

Scandalous! We waited more than 1h30, without explanation, without apology, without appetizers... some tables were served, others not. We must have gotten angry, other customers left their tables. What was finally served was of no interest or even not good (Gnocco Napoletano pasta / grilled vegetables -> worthy of a school canteen).

We waited for a table for 1h 15min when we were told 30-45min. The food took about 45 min from order. One of our orders was totally wrong and it took another 15 mins to get it right. The food was average at most but the staff was friendly.

Arriving from the Basque country where we are rather spoiled in terms of fresh fish and seafood, the Closerie des Lilas remains an exceptional address in France.

Waiter was extremely mean, during the whole time we didn’t feel welcomed there. And finally, we’ve ordered main dish (Roasted game partrigde cep mushroom fricassee salmis sauce) and barely touched it, because the dish had disgusting taste and it even looked bad. When the waiter has asked if we are okay, we said what we thought about this dish and his only answer was that - everybody else likes it. After that he took away our full plates without offering any replacement. And didn’t removed them from our bill too. This place named itself as Gourmet Restaurant. But reality is so different. The food and service in a random bistro in Paris are 100 times better than here!

We celebrated a special evening here: our nephew's eleventh birthday. What can I say, great professionalism in a charming venue. You feel welcomed and in a city like Paris this is not at all a given....Impeccable food in a delightful setting, background music with live piano, care and attention for the customer but not of circumstance: "because it affects us". The Maìtre gave us excellent advice on a good wine and all the staff made our dinner unforgettable, even dedicating to our nephew a "happy birthday" on the piano and a beautiful candle on the dessert which made him very happy. It's not a cheap place, but it's worth every euro spent. Thank you

A magnificent and timeless place. Everything was perfect: succulent dishes and wine, top-notch and impeccable service, a French atmosphere surrounded by beautiful furniture, and greenery when you are close to the veranda, lulled by the tunes of the piano and the memory of Hemingway and great names who have passed through there. We go there for the art deco setting (magnificent toilets with mosaic floors), the literary tradition of the place and the high-level customers. The welcome is normal, the dishes are very ordinary except for the very successful desserts, the very comfortable benches but not the bistro chairs that customers flee (if they can) as soon as they arrive.
Overall we are satisfied but improvements need to be made.

We had a great time in this upscale restaurant , with a cozy atmosphere away from the noises of the city. The service is stylish, the servers naturally friendly and smiling without being obsequious. The patio is quite nice on a sunny afternoon, a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, I forgot I was wearing the "I'm an American, so go ahead and screw me over, despite what our parents did for you eighty years ago" sign. We were charged for two seafood plates (@ 50 Euros each), despite my wife, who speaks French, clearly ordering one plate to share. We went there again this year to celebrate a birthday. From the start we find a set of elements that make it a precious moment: a warm welcome, a beautiful table surrounded by greenery, cristofle silverware, real porcelain, more tablecloths......the tone is given: elegance and style! we were placed next to an important table. Beautiful atmosphere. The waiter joked with us and kindly recommended dishes and drinks for them , we are glad to have heeded his advice. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere of the past is preserved. We can have dinner at the table where V.I. Lenin was preparing a revolution or dining at the table where E. Hemingway created his stories.
