Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Remarkable meal with the "season" menu. The flavours are marked, the combinations do not distort the excellence of the products used, the quantities served are perfect. Subtlety, refinement and innovation characterize this wonderful cuisine. Simple and pleasant service. One note in this respect: the sommelier was late as an aperitif as at each dish to serve the chosen wine.
Two stars are obvious, waiting for the rest...

Just a great lunch. A plate of sumptuous, crystal clear, delicious shells... as a prelude to a Royal hare... the best and by far this season. In two services: the roasted cable with diabolical precision, power and delicacy, accompanied by an unheard of fondue of leeks... and a second crazy service!... Senator Knife. Gourmet texture, diabolically concentrated sauce, addictive downright. Absolute killing!!! Delicately supported by a sharp and precise savagnin from the Tournelle domain (2017).
And to finish in texture and freshness a pear pie just delicious. An exceptional meal. A perfectly regulated service. A hare, a meal that will count. We'll be right back.

Good, not great experience
The menu is only in french, and worse, the staff make very little effort to translate or make you comfortable as you can’t read it. As such, i didn’t order wine or dessert, what’s the point
My black miso cod is similar to what the hundreds of restaurants offer

Finding Pascal Barbot and Christophe Rohat is a pure pleasure.
We find the cuisine, the professional atmosphere combined with the kindness of the entire team, a sublime wine list with extremely reasonable prices. In short, a pure moment of enjoyment.
As usual unfortunately now Michelin is late and this is worth at least 2 stars. Hopefully this mistake will be cleared up in March 2024.

Surprise menu... but what a surprise!
Here, everything is carefully planned, in its place, with discretion and efficiency, to offer the best possible time to guests.
The service is of exemplary rigor, the sommelier particularly relevant in food/wine pairings with gems that delight the taste buds.
The cuisine is outstanding, both traditional (good products), simple (perfection of cooking), but also innovative and daring with the proposed pairings which will take you where you have probably never been.
Unforgettable experience !

The prices and the ambience suggest a certain level of quality. The selection is good with four starters and 2-3 dishes. Unfortunately, the asparagus was prepared with almond cream but the taste was not outstanding and the salads were not particularly well dressed.
Overall, everything was of the highest standard, but we missed the special effect that you would expect at this price range.

What can I say, except that this dinner is the best we have had in 2022 and 2023... Dishes that are both simple and complex, which in cooking remains the most difficult. To better explain, where the apparent simplicity hides a thousand little things... the ingredients, their combinations... We will remember this little dream entry which made us travel almost everywhere... this fish of the great depths and a pigeon which made me fall back into childhood. Each dish is worth more than Michelin stars. Desserts finish giving you a rare and deep emotion. Thanks to Pascal Barbot to all those who work, in Olympian calm, in the kitchen with him. And thank you to the service, all in lightness and kindness. In the end, we found the bill to be rather normal for the service provided.

Back in the spotlight... Pascal Barbot at the top, supported by Christophe Rohat who drives an impeccable and warm service in the new Astrance, which reserves for its guests a gourmet moment. Absolument.
We tried an "à la carte" lunch which is a crazy exoticism at l'Astrance and proved a total success. Sommellerie accompli (very nice selection of exciting wines).
Recommend without reservation (and even without delay) a visit rue de Longchamp!

It's been five years since I've been in Paris, and it's been a long time since I've had Chef Pascal Barbot's cooking. It was my first time to move from my previous Viethoven street to the legendary Longchamp street store. The interior was light and natural, the kitchen was quite spacious and laid-back, and it seemed to point to the direction the chef and Christophe are going to take. Then there was the food, the appetizer foie gras champignon, alive and well, followed by an offal blue with milk-only veal and a signature plate on parade that seemed to fill the five years of being unable to go to Paris due to the coronavirus. Christophe was still alive, and it was a great night with a delicious Montrachet.

Dinner with a group of friends having privatized the evening: unanimity for the high gastronomic quality of the surprise menu and for the choice of wines
I found the excellence of the three stars of the Astrance on rue Beethoven and that of a perfect welcome and service.
Congratulations to Pascal Barbot and
Christophe Rohat for their new address

Normally, I would leave what I have written in the past about Astrance. After all, nine meals is normally enough to form a balanced opinion. But there has been a change: For reasons they would never disclose, Michelin dropped Astrance’s rare third star in its 2019 listings. There must have been reasons. But assuming there were, it wasn’t evident to us in yet another flawless, spectacular late November lunch.
The space is unchanged, perhaps except for more Asian clients and fewer American, but with 24 seats, one meal isn’t much of a data point.
The service remains perfect; kind, formal, helpful, bi-lingual. The price of the 70€ lunch is higher, but with the wines rolled into the check total, it isn’t readily clear how much higher. The 2019 Michelin Guide says 95€. Believe me, it is a bargain still.
The dishes are each superb, complex, but never weird or fussy. Three star or two, this is Paris’ best and most special restaurant and, naturally every seat taken.
(Subsequent to this meal it was announced that Astrance will move to another address in the 11th. No other details disclosed.)

People who downplay this restaurant, need to learn the first thing about fine dining. Granted the setting is outdated, which is probably in part why Michelin demoted them to 2*. Just for the record: 2* Michelin is still categorised as being: worthy of the detour. Incredible is a better word. And then some.
The consommé de cêpes infused with ginger and shrimp ravioli alone merited coming. The dishes were honest, of a skill rarely equalled (creating the celery root purée with Parmesan and truffle crème, the way it was presented, is work of an artist - and just plainly delicious.) Duck tart. Jeezes. Waauw. And the wines were all bold, unknown choices that paired immaculately. I haven’t had a dining experience in a long time. Move to Jamin, revamp the setting and get that 3* back. Parceque tu le vaut bien.

From beginning to end our experience at L'Astrance was superb. We came for my birthday dinner and the staff truly made me feel special and celebrated. The food was fantastic, some of the best I've had in Paris, and the wine selection for the pairing was on point. I'd recommend this place for anyone looking for a real fine dining experience.

We had an excellent dinner at Astrance on the 11th. Beautiful fish, beautiful salad--everything was light and first-rate. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Wine list was very good. We definitely want to go back.
