Love this place, it is popular with locals and tourists alike. Lunch is excellent, and the wait staff are patient and friendly. Good selection of French bistro food, well prepared and many allow for sharing. Have only been for lunch, so not sure if this is the same at night. Beef bourguignon is especially good, but try other things as... More

It's been said that the beef bourguignonne at Chez Josephine Dumonet is the best in Paris (and, therefore, in the world?). I found it to be absolutely stunning, one of the single best restaurant dishes I've ever enjoyed. It was served in a copper pot, three chunks of deep mahogany colored beef in an inky, almost black sauce. It was... More

We cone to paris at least once a year. We have many restaurants that we love and return too but on my last few trips I found it difficult to find beef bourguignon on the menu and if I did find it, it was a let down. From what I understand the bb is a staple here at Josephine and... More

With over 20 years of Paris dining experience, this is one of our three favorite establishments. The beef bourguignon and the millefeuille are some, if not the best in the City. Reservations are strongly advised and lunch is an easier access point. Plan on 130 E for entre, plat. dessert and wine for two. There are now 3 dining areas... More

The place is historic, but really without knowing its history one would say that it is just plain old. We were seated at a small table near the door in a extremely cold winter evening and not only people kept coming in and going out, but also the door could not close properly so the climate was drafty for most... My friends came to Paris and wanted to have a traditional French meal. So I took them to Josephine, they had the beef bourguinion and the mille feuille and it hit the spot. They were very pleased so was I. Will definitely come visit this restaurant again.

My review is rather mixed as I personally found the food to be above average only. One dish stood out to me was the duck confit, which is like the national French dish and it was amazing. If you don't like duck due to its gamey aftertaste, this one didn't have that at all. the crispy skin is tasty into... More

Had an incredible dinner at Josephine chez Dumonet. I had the stuffed mushrooms, duck confit and the soufflé - all were excellent! On top of that, the owner/chef Jean-Christian Dumonet was hilarious and incredibly hospitable; I had the best time ever! As a result, I met wonderful new friends! Tres bon! Merci Beaucoup!

Was excited to try this out since restaurant is always highly rated by critics and bloggers. The restaurant itself looks like a time capsule -- it is so charmingly classic. It might look "run-down" though to the uninitiated. :) Dinner service was a little slow but the food was remarkable! Best duck confit I have had. The beef bourg was... More

First time we were here. According to some blogs on of the top brasseries in Paris and I must say it was a very nice first encounter. Typical French interior, small tables, but very friendly staff. The menu card was rather focused on meat but there still were some alternative dishes. I can image that if you go for a... More
