I got high expectations about the restaurant, but not all of them were attended. Service was good and friendly, the menu offers some good classics. I had the morilles farcies, which was a little sour (the sauce and foie gras filling) for my taste. The...More

Lovely authentic little French bistro. Best to make reservations. My husband and I waited 45 minutes, but the restaurant manager was so lovely and apologetic that we didn't mind strolling up the street for a coffee while we waited. The service was exceptional and our...More

I'd read very good reviews including positive comments from a food author, so my husband and I booked while on Paris. Firstly, they attempted to seat us near the kitchen but of course...no, we asked to be seated at the front. They seated us at...More

We were sent to Dumonet as per the concierge at our hotel. He highly recommended it. And he also told us to be sure we told them we came from LaBelle Juliette, our hotel. This always makes me feel there is a kick back involved....More

Our first visit to this restaurant and it couldn't have been more positive. We tried a variety of entrees--fresh white asparagus with perfect hollandaise sauce, puree fresh peas with shell-less soft-boiled egg (how do they do that?), and cream of cauliflower soup with foie gras...The...More

I will start with the negative- We booked here for one of our evening meals, as it had amazing reviews on tripadvisor. It is a small restaurant and they try to get as many bums on seats as possible, so it was very crammed up,...More

A second visit on a return to Paris. Two visits actually, and both of them utterly wonderful. The level of service, the execution of the dishes, the thought behind the wine list and the warmth are what bring us back every time. This is an...More

I enjoyed Josephine Chez Dumonet very much. The smoked salmon was good, the beef bourguignon, excellent, as was the fish. Great desserts. Solid, classic, French cuisine in a very lively setting. I was a a bit disappointed to dine with so many Americans, but I...More

Come here for classic, heavy French bistro fare (think boeuf bourguignon, riz de veau, confit de canard) in an authentic old Paris setting. The restaurant is quite small so you need to reserve in advance. Don't miss the millefeuille.

In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic
and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is
dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops,
ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants.
Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine
art school and small museums hide in unassuming
squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the
oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented

I agree with other respondents that dressy attire is not required so feel free to wear a stylish pair of jeans with a nice blouse or sweater and heels or loafers. I found that in general, what you wear in Paris is not as... More

Everyone speaks English at any nice restaurant. I believe for both my wife and me it was about $100 total. Totally worth it. I would not go back without eating there.

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot reserve at Josephine Chez Dumonet online (and definitely not on the Paris Forum), you will need to telephone to make a reservation.
