Recently while in Paris we returned to dine at Drouant after almost a year's absence since the first time there. That first time was memorable because of the excellent food and wine and service. Everything about this restaurant is first-class and yet it is a friendly, flexible place. Last year we had a starter of foie gras on asparagus, but... More

Lunch was classic, beautifully plated, and elegant in a serence setting just blocks from the opera house. Every bite was rich and delicious.

Classy restaurant, ideal for informal as well as for meeting dinners. Kind and attentive service. I just found the poulet dish nothing special while they suggest it as one of the specialisties of their menu and compared to other original choises they offer.

Very good food but at times I was asking myself if I was at a French or an Asian restaurant. Confused me a bit but overall food was good, service was also ok.

Nice and chic Parisian restaurant. I was there for organised dinner for 50 person so cannot judge a la card menu. We had dishes made from quiet basic ingredients but of good taste and quality. All was tasty and service was kind and fast.

A classic French restaurant, with excellent food, also á l'ancienne like the Croute de Canard, fine wine card (expensive), good service. Pricy but in line with the distinct ambience and the central location

Quintessentially French - elegant, good service and splendid food. I had the best pork and wilted spinach I have eaten in a very long time. Service attentive but not intrusive. Prices high but not overwhelming

This upmarket restaurant is popular with both local Parisians and tourists. It's an upmarket restaurant where the food is being pushed up a notch to modernise some French favourites. There are set menus available, as well as a la carte. The four choice entree -where smaller portions of your choice of four entrees is served is a great place to... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
