Classic French dishes in a classic French location -- Place Dauphine -- not to be missed. The foie gras was divine! We went on a Sunday. It is quiet place to chat with friends and linger over a good bottle of wine. Digest slowly and savor the food and the atmosphere. Ah Paris!

Found this restaurant by accident on our way to the Louvre and returned for lunch. Menu is extensive and you can select from the lunch menu or a la carte and mix and match from both. Food is classically french ,tasty, reasonably priced and service good though a little frenetic as a large party suddenly appeared. This did not adversely... More

We were invited to Restaurant Paul by a long-time local friend during our holiday trip to France last summer. We were "agreablement" surprised by the beautiful, nice & quiet location which Place Dauphine proved to be - my first time in that specific area even though I've been to Paris and to the very close "buzzy/touristic" areas a few times...... Stopped here on the recommendation of locals we met at lunch a few days earlier. Did not disappoint. Small and cozy in a quiet location. Foie gras appetizer is big enough for 3 people to share. We also enjoyed the veal stew and steak with seared foie gras. Both excellent. House Bordeaux wines were good too. Lots of choices in... More

We had the most enjoyable evening at Restaurant Paul. Escargo, ravioli with chicken, veal stew, liver, and salmon was enjoyed by all four of us. On top of our delicious food, what also made the evening was the staff. They were all professional, courteous, friendly, inviting and warm. We even got a few hugs and a very sincere thank you... Hi Steve stopped in for a bite to eat...Very scary French menu, but wonderful food was gauranteed. I took the steak tartar which, in itself was dull, but with a bottle of mercury 1er cru...Oh delicious....A little more wine left over to some a delightful plate of cheeses and then washed down with a magnificent crème brulé. Highly recommended.. #... More

While in Pairs we were able to eat at about 10 different restaurants and this was our favorite by far. It was a little pricey but the food was AMAZING. I had a sea bass dish and my fiancé had a steak and potato dish. My sea bass was amazing and I was lucky enough to finish off my fiancés... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighbourhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
