My husband and I stumbled upon Le Louis at the beginning of our Paris visit as it was right around the corner from where we were staying. We are so happy we did! It is an intimate, friendly place, where the owner is directly involved with the service. She is a very patient, helpful hostess, who genuinely wants guests to have a pleasant meal and visit. The food's quality and flavor is beyond description. We started with the pate, accompanied by a fruit jam. I then had Sea Bass sauteed perfectly and my husband had local grilled sausages. Both were wonderful. We had the lava cake for dessert that melted in our mouths. The wine suggested was perfect with our meals and I had some of the best Irish coffee ever. The gentlemen sitting close to us ordered the Prime Rib and it looked and smelled wonderfully, and the portion was very generous.
During our meal, the owner invited us to return on Saturday night as they have a piano player from Lousiana play and guests sing-a-long. We did return and had an absolute blast. Everyone in the restaurant from all over the planet sings, laughs and enjoys a great time!
Of all the restaurants in Paris, this little place, not far from the Louvre, is well worth a visit.

A most accommodating restaurant for late arrivals. An impromptu table for 5 was created for upstairs in what is a small restaurant. From the word go we were seated and made valued customers. Care was taken by the very efficient bi-lingual server to explain all of the possibilities for lunch. We all settled for “The Menu” which included at least two choices for each course. The food was prepared with great care and the ingredients tasted fresh. We shared a bottle of Sancere which was great value for money, a lovely drop. Coffee and farewells brought this wonderful lunch to a close.

We were visiting Paris for my girlfriend's 30th birthday and intended to visit here on the day after her birthday. Unfortunately, they were closed so we came for lunch on her birthday instead, and we are glad we did!
A little off the beaten track, near the Louvre, is this hidden gem. Authentic decoration and incredible food, you do not want to miss out!
The frogs legs were the best I've ever had, as was the guinea fowl and chocolate mousse. My girlfriend had the gnocchi which was clearly, perfectly hand made.
For a final treat, when we ordered dessert, it came with a bonus cake and candles for my girlfriend.
A perfect start to a wonderful afternoon.

We made reservations only a couple hours in advance. Large group of 10+. The restaurant is small and was busy when we arrived but we were eventually able to be seated at one table together. Food was excellent. The veal was the best plate we ordered. Service was A+!

Le Louis is undoubtedly a must when visiting Paris. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with beautiful French decor and a smell of fresh, homemade food.
The owner is absolutely amazing! So kind and attentive and runs an amazing restaurant! The chef prepared food that we still think about today!
Their bottomless brunch a Sunday was top tier, but I must emphasise that both times we ate at Le Louis we left very happy.
Le Louis has become our favourite memory from our trip to Paris and I would encourage all my friends and family to visit.
Simply amazing!

We had an extraordinary evening and will definitely go back. This restaurant on Rue Coquillère discovered by chance is a real nugget. Colorful decor, baroque, clutter, original, a bit flea market a bit classroom, a bit of everything. Very friendly and friendly welcome. Unique atmosphere with an excellent American pianist who interprets good pieces of French repertoire and involves you. We have a lot of fun. Awards are reasonable and dishes tasty. Burrata with pea and red fruit puree is delicious and original. Among the interesting dishes on offer we opted for Rossini-style tournedos with gnocchi. The meat was good but everything was dry unfortunately, not enough sauce, which spoiled our pleasure. Regarding wine by the glass it is served sparingly (below half the glass) which is not very correct. Too bad because the rosé was famous. Stunning chocolate mousse. Apart from the 2 problems mentioned and easily remedied we had a memorable evening where everyone participates. To be repeated without hesitation. Great happiness and thanks. It is advisable to book.

We went for lunch on their first day back from summer vacation, so the menu was limited. We had egg mayo and frog legs as appetizers, both were very good. Main courses were veal and grand salad, which tasted good with good portion. The restaurant hides on small street near Louvre Museum and it appears that many clients are local.

Lunch on a sunny spring Paris day was a delight in this small characterful restaurant. Pumpkin soup then whiting or pork, washed down by a good chablis. All cooked and presented in a fine way and with attentive service. Highly recommended.

We did not know what to expect when we were referred to this restaurant by our hotel’s concierge but were totally blown away on all fronts- the ambience was lovely, the owner/hostess charming and welcoming and the food was incredible. Truly delicious. We wanted to taste a desert but wound up devouring their molten chocolate cake with caramel sauce and amaretto ice cream. There was also a wonderful pianist playing staples and encouraging diners to sing along. The price was fair. We cannot wait to go back.

Wow! What can I say?! What a FANTASTIC find! Celine helped us with a reservation in advance of our visit to Paris, and was the first to greet us when we arrived. She was the most perfect host, and made sure we were well looked after all night. And as for the food…. It was simply STUNNING!! We had the 1kg of grilled beef rib to share, and it was simply the best beef we have ever had! Cooked to perfection (it was recommended medium rare). All the food (starters, mains and deserts) all tasted so fresh. And to top it off we even had an evening of entertainment thanks to the pianist, Scott Sontag, who had the whole restaurant singing along with the song sheets provided! What a lovely man he was too. Talking to us throughout and taking a genuine interest in where we were all from. I booked this meal for the eve of my wife’s 40th birthday and for our 1st night in Paris, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions ever!! They even presented her with a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to her unexpectedly! A perfect evening for a perfect start to my wife’s birthday celebrations! Thank you so much to Celine and all the staff at Le Louis. You really made our first night in Paris perfection! We want to come back just to visit here again! Magnifique!!

This was our third trip to Paris and each time we eat at La Louis more than once. The service is amazing. Celine is one of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. The food is very good. Beef tartare is the best we had in France. The restaurant definitely deserves the Gault et Millau award that it received in July 2022. A must visit while in Paris!

Nice place in a not too busy street in Paris. Very courteous staff especially Lucia attentive, capable and smiling. Little variety of choice on the menu, prices are quite high in exchange for portions that are anything but hearty and of average quality. The tables near the entrance have to fight with the January cold every time the door is opened. Excessive smoke when they bring the meat to the tables for cooking the meat of those who ordered it.

We found the small, pleasantly decorated restaurant by chance on the Internet and had a wonderful evening just before the holiday closing time.
The nice boss looked after us professionally (in English/multilingual) throughout the evening, even though she was the only one serving and it was very busy and we initially felt a bit lost on the gallery alone. But a good wine recommendation, the friendly family atmosphere and flexibility made everything good.
We had oysters, snails, foie gras as a starter and the 1 kg Côte de Bœuf Grillée to share for us as a couple with daughter and then a crème brûlée and a chocolate tart. Everything was really very good. To my positive surprise, the price level was reasonable and not excessive compared to many other restaurants in Paris. The same applies to the wine.
It was particularly nice that a good and super nice piano player (Scott from the USA, who also speaks extremely good German) played noticeably but unobtrusively and sang brilliantly for the whole (!) restaurant. My daughter even received a private birthday serenade from him.
An exceptionally beautiful evening - we would love to come back.

Quite possibly the best meal we've ever had! The owner welcomed us so lovingly into her quirky and beautiful restaurant. She didn't make us feel rushed, letting us sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the live pianist. The menu was small, but oh so delicious and fresh! The wine was amazing and paired perfect with our meal. If you want somewhere a little different then this place is a must visit! We cannot wait to come back on our next visit to Paris. Thank you!!
