After quite some years, found myself back here and the food and wine were sensational as I'd remembered. Highly recommended.

Along with a reasonably good red wine at $160, I asked the waiter what the specialties of the house might be. He suggested a dish for an appetizer (known in Paris as the entree) en croute with crayfish, and the dumplings as a main course, or plat. This was the heaviest, starchiest meal I have ever experienced. The entree turned... More

super easy online-reservation. The place got a gorgeous french bistro atmosphere but from the first glimpse of the qualified staff you can imagine that the food will be more than just some bistro snacks. The menue is small but offers a variety of dishes. We had a starter and a main course but couldn't order something sweet anymore. Yes, the... More

The restaurant itself is a lovely Belle Époque place although the back half where we were seated was lit too brightly which harmed the atmosphere. The service was good but unfortunately the food itself was not great for the money. The pre-starter of a sort of cheese and oil dip with bread was fantastic. The coddled egg, first green asparagus,... More

The food of the Lyons region is not to everyone's liking, especially if pork or offal don't appeal, but I have an unlimited desire for both, so I'm in ecstasy there. On my last visit, pork rillettes were the starter and quenelles as the main course, both exquisite. It was an old, and very tired brasserie before it was taken... More

We have a group of ten people, I only remember this dish is excellent "Eggs casserole with crayfish". Other then that chicken with black truffle is ok, pork is ok. We heard two of our group ordered beef and they are good. I was still full from lunch so I did not taste it. Atmosphere friendly and cost. Reasonable price

Several blocks from the Bourse, this quiet and small jewel offers excellent food. Reservations are a must. The Bourguignon is the second best from among over 30 variations tried in the city. The Quenelles a la Lyonnaise were delicate and supurb. Be prepared to spend a bit more for wine. This restaurant is truly worth the visit..

Lovely evening with most friendly staff. Great wine! Tasty dishes that are very well prepared. Very Parisian French experience in a relaxed atmosphere. One small suggestions for the owner: invest in new casseroles that are being used for presenting your hot dishes ;-).

Description
Aux Lyonnais: a Parisian bistro dedicated to the cuisine of Lyon !This traditional "bouchon Lyonnais" in Paris opened in 1890. It still has the red painted wood store front, and the original sign "Maison Lyonnaise".Frédéric Thévenet, head of the brigade, prepares "good, old fashioned, hearty food" but adds a modern touch. Just like Alain Ducasse, he gives pride of place to local produce, and is partial to friendly and festive cooking that suits the traditional setting with its beautiful zinc covered wood countertop and the metro-style wall tiles that delight the guests.A star dish of the establishment: Coddle egg, crayfish fricassee with herbs: Calf’s liver with parsley and garlic, tender potatoes shavings; Lyonnaise-style quenelles, Nantua sauce…

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
