Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This is a coffee shop. I say that because others who have reviewed it seem to think it aspires to be more than that. It sells excellent coffee and a small range of buns/tarts that go well with coffee and tea. That's what coffee shops do! I understand that they favour small producers and organic and fair trade policies and I would support that. "Going for a coffee" in Paris can be hit or miss for reasons that are beyond my understanding since making a decent coffee isn't difficult. Hence, Malongo is our go to place for a good coffee if we are anywhere in the area. The product is reliable and the prices are appropriate. The premises have a rather urban warehouse feel about them and it doesn't have the most comfortable seating in the world, but if you can get over that, you will enjoy your coffee. They also sell beans.

Wide selection of fresh coffee (roasted and also raw beans included) to suit many tastes. Professional service, personnel can help you to find coffee according to individual needs. Located near Odeon metro station. I recommend this place especially as a coffee beans shop.

I enjoyed coming here during my time in Paris, I found it to be the best coffee shop in the area. During the weekdays you can come here to work on your laptop with access to free Wi-Fi, but on the weekends, they turn the Wi-Fi off to encourage human interaction. The coffee was delicious and far superior to Starbucks. However, some baristas pull a better espresso than others, but that seems to consistent amongst all coffee shops. There is a good amount of seating available, though they don't seem to wipe down the tables every often. I found that the pastries were a bit stale. The baristas were friendly, and most knew English, even though I tried to order in French best I could. I'd recommend checking this place out if you're in the area and want a good cup of coffee.

Dreadful facilities at this place. The toilets were awful and not really usable as broken, dirty and unhygienic. Coffee was good but unless they address the comfort of customers and provide better services I would not visit or drink here again. Appalled they think they can get away with this - I would expect as a paying customer to get better

Excellent coffee. I'm Australian, I don't drink bad coffee. In fhe morning I tried the cafe vennois, then came back in the afternoon for espresso. It was that good. As per usual Parisian experiences, don't expect good customer servjce.

This is a very nice coffee spot near Odeon. You can buy coffee from around the world and also has a coffee house part which is cozy.

A funky little cafe a couple of streets back from the Seine. A wide variety and styles of coffee expertly prepared by a barista (it’s not always easy to get a good coffee in Paris🙂). Fair trade and bio ethical varieties also available, along with a small but delicious selection of foods for breakfast and lunch. Super friendly staff.

Best coffee in Paris. We are from the coffee capital in Australia and this coffee was amazing. Exactly what we needed after travelling for so long.

If you are thinking to come over the weekend to work on your laptop - DON’T. There is no Wifi over the weekend (ridiculous). I’d have left immediately but unfortunately I ordered a latte. I even called ahead to ask if it’s possible to work with my laptop there and they said okay. SO MISLEADING. And the latte was too sweet, barely taste the espresso. There are a lot other coffee shops which are worth your money. Even Starbucks would be much better. I would not come back. I feel scammed.

Being a coffee lover I was getting a bit desperate to find specialty coffee during my six month travel and FINALLY I walk past Malongo! They have siphon, V60, Chemex, organic coffee, single origin, all types of filtered coffee AND almond milk! Baristas, services location, venue and everything else was spot on.

Malongo has the best coffee in Paris, in my opinion. I even named it as best café in Paris in an article I wrote for a national newspaper. But after my visit this week I won't be going back. The barista (woman of Indian/Asian origin) was one of the rudest people I've ever encountered. Just shockingly awful. She should not be working in hospitality and will drive away business.

Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
