Food was wonderful quality, with authentic, charming atmosphere and reasonable prices for what you're getting. The staff was incredibly friendly, especailly the waitress, and I felt like I was cared for very well. This restaurant feels very genuine and truly good, especially compared to other more touristy places in the area (near the Eiffel Tower).

Ended up here thanks to TripAdvisor and wasn't disappointed. Small restaurant with a mom & pop vibe. The food was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly and all spoke English. My only qualm was the bread tasted slightly off but overall quality of the food more than made up for this. Ordered the lamb shank, confit pork, and the entrecotte - all excellent.

Sat down for a quick break to have some orange juice after loads of walking. EUR 16 came as a surprise and a complete piss-take for 2 very average glasses of OJ.

In a smart part of Paris but reasonably priced. Great set lunch, best soupe a l'oignon in Paris. Poule au pot a speciality. Worth a visit.

We enjoyed our dinner at La Poule au Pot, a truly authentic Parisian brasserie which was packed with lots of locals. There was a very nice ambiance and the service was friendly and the food was good. Not surprisingly, we both opted for the chicken which as it says is served in a pot. It was delicious and very hearty and we were both glad that we opted for a salade mixte to start with. This is a cozy, casual place. Not fine dining but great if you want an authentic, casual Parisian meal.

Took a chance after not finding many current reviews and definitely found a local Parisian gem. The food was absolutely delicious, the menu is small and looks like it changes regularly, but is all freshly cooked. The service was quite “hands-off” (not constantly checking on you) but the staff were very pleasant and polite. Would definitely recommend a visit if you’re trying to avoid the tourist traps.

A classic neighborhood bistro without pretense offers wonderful hardy fair well suited to a dreary Paris winter. the long tin bar leads into the tightly packed and popular dining room. The entrecote, poule en pot were terrific, savory and well done. Wines are simple vins de pays and inexpensive but work well with the food. Service is friendly and good.

We were confused as we thought that the restaurant was another one we intended to have dinner at! The similarity of the name was just a coincidence.. The staff was not the friendliest and they had a very hard time in cracking a smile with their few guests. Among others, we had the dish of the restaurant: the chicken. It lacked taste and even if the portion was generous. As a desert, we chose cafe gourmand, which was disappointing and we did not manage to finish it. In the end, the price we had to pay was too expensive for the quality of the food and the service provided.

As a starter, we ordered foie gras: the smallest portions of foie gras ever seen on a plate. It was a bite, the size of my finger. But then, the most expensive bite! When we mentioned it to the staff, they said they were surprised to - but didn't really care, or mind you, send back the plate. It all went downhill from there : waiters picking up glasses of wines unfinished, food quality disappointing to say the least, even the poule au pot had industrial baguette in it, disgusting. The desert that was tasteless (frozen?) we could not even finish it, and finally, the bill arrived. It's way too expensive for the food and service. Will not come back and recommend you to avoid this tourist trap.

We have been twice in the last weeks in this restaurant. The food is quite good and despite being understaffed it is a decent place for a bistrot type dinner. But you have to be very careful as it seems to be a hot spot for pickpockets and thieves, I had my computer backpack stolen while we were eating on the terrace and the staff seemed quite used to it and unhelpful, this call for being very careful there was confirmed by police station. This certainly spoiled quite a lot the whole dining experience.

Except for being understaffed pleasant experience, good food, not cheap, but good value for the money. I recommend this place.

We found this restaurant while looking for another. The service was both charming and efficient (the waiters spoke English with us). The food was excellent. We had the beef carpaccio and the beef tartare and they were both perfect dishes on a hot summers day. The desserts were also good; I had the best creme brûlée I think I have ever tasted. Loved it!
