This cozy place serves good salads and omelettes at decent prices. For a quick lunch is recommended, even if you cannot find unforgettable proposals. Very close to republique square it is a good solution in case of a nice rest without excessive exptectation

We discovered this place by accident last time we were in Paris as it happened to be across from our hotel and the desk clerk recommended it. It is an ordinary looking place but the Croque Madame and Croque Monsier were amazing, just perfect. The fries were fresh, the salad and dressing lovely and the service good. We went back... More

We had a quiet evening with some food and drinks. The place is nice. Nothing extraordinary. Happy hours have very diluted drinks.

This is a perfect place to people watch as you sip a good drink - Happy Hour has excellent mojitos for 5 Euros. Excellent drinks and service. I had the baked camembert with drinks at happy hour and it was delicious. This cafe has free wifi (ask for the code). Beautiful place to stop and drink/eat.

While Au Grand Turenne is just a short distance from Place de la République, we were unaware of that when we stumbled upon the restaurant. Friends had just arrived and we were walking the streets, looking for a place they found appealing. They were tired, it was a long walk. LOL. We had a variety of food, from beef, to... More

We ate here on a whim, and we ended up regretting it. My fish and chips were good, although I asked for malt vinegar, was told they had it, and never received it. My wife's salad was inedible, because there was so much dressing on it. Drinks were expensive. Service was friendly but slow.

Au Grand Turenne is one of the nicest out door cafes in Paris. It sits a few steps from La Place de la Republique on Blvd du Temple. They serve a great breakfast, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee and croissant for only 7,90€. The croissants and baguettes come from the award winning boulangerie on rue Saintonge, 59 r.d.s. Boulangerie. Boeuf... More

We enjoyed a tasty, typically French lunch at a reasonable price. Service was good. Came back later for coffee and a yummy hot chocolate (with spoonable, dark melted chocolate in the bottom of the cup).

Apparently, this brasserie is part of a chain. Doesn't matter, because the food was fresh and service good. Delectable pumpkin bisque for dinner. And a nice breakfast special with croissant (while they last), tea/coffee and orange juice: €7.80.

Arrived at our hotel in Paris around 3:00 pm after a 4 day rental car tour of Normandy. This restaurant was about 5 blocks from our hotel. We past through an area with lots of restaurants, but they seemed to be more for the tourist trade. We wanted something not so crowded with the "Sidewalk Atmosphere". Au Grand Turenne had... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
