I came here after a visit last year and had one of the best meals on this visit. The recommended Basque cuisine of steak and grilled fish were very good choices. The wine was superb. Considering what we spent, I wish they had told us service was included. But will know for next time.

We found this place in our neighborhood, very close to Notre Dame. We had a late dinner here, a welcoming outdoor patio with a nice atmosphere. We had appetizers and good wine and the kids enjoyed their steak frites. Service was good

Popped in to this small restaurant on our way to a concert at Notre Dame. While it is unassuming in appearance, our meal was very good. Specializing in Basque cuisine, we ordered fish that was perfectly cooked and presented. Not being familiar with Basque wines, I left it up to the server to choose for me and was not disappointed.... I first encountered this restaurant on a summer afternoon. There is a lovely outdoor eating area that caught my attention. My bf and I stopped and had a lovely meal served by pleasant people. I returned often and have always had a lovely meal and a great time here. When people tell me about forthcoming trips to Paris, I always... More

We knew well this restaurant and we visited it quite often everytime we were in Paris (every two months). However, this time, it was astonishingly awful in terms of service. When we came in, there was this unpleasant odour of dirty restaurant. The dishes weren't the same quality and the service was plain disappointing. After ordering dinner (plus apéritif and... More

Tucked away only a few meters from the quais along the Seine and Notre Dame but very few tourists travel back to eat here, you'll be surprised by the quality and originality of this restaurant. Owners always present. Basque speciality. Always something special and from the area on the daily menu. A little pricy but if you like to travel... More

This was our first experience of basque food and wine and we really enjoyed it. This was an easy place with kids, although choice relatively limited for them but if they love steak frites (which throughout France seemed to be a cooked steak tartare pattie) they will be happy. Boudin noir/morcilla and sea bass were both good and wine proposed... More

I had a dinner at this wonderfully located restaurant. Quite close to Blvd St Germain but still far enough from the crowd and the noise make this location a superb one. You may enjoy your drinks in the patio while a friendly staff will suggest you the "plate du jour". I enjoyed some lambs ribs and I've been really satisfied

We stopped in for dinner after walking by and seeing a nice patio at the end of the street. I ordered the filet (steak) and my wife ordered the pork. Her pork was decent but not special. I found it interesting that I was not asked how I wanted my meat cooked, but I didn't worry about it, hey we're... More

I popped in for a coffee because of the nice outdoor square where they have their tables. The coffee and service was fine. They do advertise Basque region food and I would like to go back to try this out. The only reason I didn't was I gad already had lunch!

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
