At lunch time, the doors open when the chef is ready, and the largely French crowd of neighborhood residents slides past the bar to find its seats -- portly merchants reading their paper, napkins tucked in... Food is wonderful, simple but prepared and served with obvious pleasure... Simple interior, you feel French for a moment...

A very nice restaurant that is not for tourists. Great natural way of cooking with clear roots with the countryside.

Like a mini ‘Brasserie’ on 2 floors and selection of menues, although simple but delightful choices. This upper part of the area next to the Theatre Odeon is always so much more interesting.

Our last meal in Paris was eaten at this bistro. It was a lovely and cozy atmosphere with classic red-checkered tablecloths and the sweetest, friendliest owner in the world. The food does not disappoint and I had a fantastic, comforting meal of Beaujolais wine with duck confit, mashed potatoes, and salad. A wonderful last dinner in Paris!

Popped in for a quick late lunch and were welcomed even though we were accented foreigners. The older lady seemed to be in charge and knew her simple menu well. Good food, small caraffe of wine to share. just what we needed.

Duck foie gras was very good. An extra large serving. Buttery. Served w dry toast (which should have been cut before serving) and average greens. Duck entree was a bit too dry. Beef dishes are done to perfection Staffed with the owners who are very pleasant. Great service Reasonably priced.

While staying nearby we popped in for a drink and a bit to eat and could not have been made more welcome. The owners were so friendly and conversed with us although we spoke little French. The service was excellent without being over the top. Quality food at a reasonable price. See for yourself you will be pleseantly surprised. If... More

Everything was perfect, I can only reccommend it. Food is fantastic, atmosphere calm and friendly (thanks also to the owner's dog) - I don't think there are many places in Paris like this in terms of quality of food and price.

We loved it! I noticed a few reviewers were upset that they couldn't just pop in for a quick salad or other light meal and their reviews were rather harsh. I counted 26 seats in the restaurant. If you think about it for a second, it's not really a great business model for a small family run restaurant to run... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
