I went to this place as part of the itinerary of my tour in Europe, the meal was included in the tour, and I think it was good, good service, they had live music, and it was a good place.

We walked into this sleepy restaurant just a lunch time. We both had a warm bowl of vegetable soup to start. My pasta with meat balls and sauce provencale along with my husbands special curry pork were very tasty. Soon after a group of 20 Spanish tourist arrrived but that only made the atmosphere more friendly. Decor is dark but... More

We, a group of 6, stumbled into this place by accident and had the worst restaurant experience of our lifetime! By the end of the day, two of the group had food poisoning. One from the escargot dish (we usually like snails) and one from a rancid kidney dish (a French classic that we usually also like, not here though).... More

Poor food, dingy restaurant. It's my own fault as I walked in off the street in the most touristy area in Paris without having checked the online reviews first. The restaurant will no doubt continue to do well despite its many shortcomings because of where it is. Avoid.

I had a few places in mind to eat at in Montmartre, but it was late, and the ones I was familiar with (like the great-smelling place next door) were full for the evening. So we took a chance on this place, and it was the worst meal I have ever had in Europe. I speak some French and ordered... More

I have never before posted a review on Tripadvisor, but after my experiences last night, I feel compelled to warn everyone against visiting this establishment. Indeed, had a case ever been made for consulting Tripadvisor BEFORE venturing into such a grotesque travesty, this is it. In a single, never to be repeated, visit we experienced all the fabled arrogance of... More

That the place was empty at Sunday lunch time should have alerted us to the problem. We were eight friends. We sat down and though there was a fixed price menu outside we were not offered it until we asked. We were then told that various items were not available. We asked for bread, I think they gave us the... More

Of course we were trolling around the Cathedral and what used to be painters square when we came across the restaurant Butte en Vigne. I was hungry, she was tired of walking all over the place. The restaurant was the compromise. We went in, but they said there was no room without a reservation. I asked how long a wait... More

We visited this restaurant after spotting it while walking down from Sacre Coeur. We should have walked out when the owner leant over to hand us menus - somewhat less than fragrant! The service was very slow, but wouldn't have mattered so much if the meal had been worth waiting for! The food was at best average, meatballs in a... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
