We loved sitting in the outdoor section sipping wine, eating cheese, and watching people. Great staff.

We always have lunch here while wandering the St. Germain area. We receive quality meals and splendid service. Can be very busy during lunch. Will always return.

Quaint café with attentive staff. Food was average but the special diet juices were divine. We stopped off for lunch but would have settled for the fresh juices. Typically old & very French!

Average Croque Monsieur over average price. Service was not fantastic but we went very late at night and the waiter looked very tired. Our Croque was made with industrial bred, first time in a full price brasserie.

Sat down to have a glass of wine, when the bill arrived they had charged us $34.00 Euros of two (2) glasses of wine. Sadly they saw us coming, spoke with the manager - he could have cared less. Please be careful here, it's about the money, not the customer - Bad, Bad Bad

Just 50 yards away from Cafe Flore and Les Deux Magots, the Café Bonaparte seems to be offering better value. It is cheaper than its two much better known neighbours - but it is NOT cheap. The surroundings are beautifully polished wood panels and brass, and the service is very good. The prices are steep. If you want to have... More

We sat at Cafe Bonaparte for a couple of hours on a lovely Sunday in early spring. The omelette was delicious as was the smoked salmon.

We had a long day out and spotted Cafe Bonaparte on our way back to our hotel. Pleasantly surprised staff are very friendly offered us a English menu although the French menu was fine. Excellent drinks selection and food menu has something for everyone.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
