Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you look for artistry in all things then please wander over to this little gem in Le Marais. The staff are patient and friendly with travelers and the Banana Coco sells out quickly! Citron poppy seed cake was dry but really we came for the coffee which was quality. Cappuccino though petite warms your soul and flat white gives more space to savor bean flavor and roast. Don’t plan on staying to read Philosophy they need to sell coffee and pay for fair trade and properly roasted beans.

Being Australians , we think we know our coffee & La Cafeotheque delivers. Nothing pretentious, no fancy seating, just comfortable mismatched furniture, great coffee and if you are lucky, live music. We found La C after trying more than a dozen so called coffee shops…most disappointed, burnt milk, too hot, stale beans, you name it but at La C , they nailed it. Don’t go expecting 5 star service, no real pretentions of gourmet dining, just great coffee, a limited array of pastries & occasionally, a quiche. If you want a couple of others try Coutume in the 7th and Noir on Ile St Louis.

With my friend, we both had delicious coffees, really tasty. The juices were quite good too. The place is nice, cosy. But we were appalled by the service. The two staff membres were grumpy and we had the feeling to bother. One clearly seemed mega stressed and exhausted and the other one not to care. One of them struggled with French and English so it was difficult to communicate. It is really a pity to have such good products and poor service. I'll go somewhere else next time.

The woman that took our order was the rudest person I met in Paris. The system for ordering is confusing since we can’t see the pastries from the register and when we asked what they had the woman was rude instead of just giving us the menu that was right next to her. There are better places to have breakfast in Paris with nicer people.

We went to this cafe as we were looking for great quality of beans.
When we entered, the waiters did not really pay attention to the new customers looking for a place to sit. We found a table and waited some time until one waitress told us to go to the shop at the entrance to order our cups of coffee with a long queue of people just buying beans
After that we came back to the table without knowing that we had to give the bill to the other waitress to get our coffees.
The tables are not comfortable at all and were not very clean either.
All in all, not such a good experience but the coffee was very good though.

This was on the list to try as they have so many varieties and are famous. Definitely dint disappoint. Its on very close to hotel de ville, and from ambience to experience everything was great. I always rank a cafe with their macchiato and espresso and this ranks among top 10.
Owner was sweet enough to talk and engage in a good conversation. Thanks to Frederico :) we also got the guatamel cafe powder which is great.
A must one in Paris as they have so much variety.

The best coffee we had all weekend in Paris. We bought it with their daily breakfast deal - freshly squeezed organise juice, coffee and croissant €9
Compared to other places this was by far the best value for money.
It had a quirky feel - lots of art, mismatch of rooms and furniture.
You could also buy your beans and have them ground here.
Staff were very friendly. When back in Paris will definitely be visiting again!

Excellent coffee - as good as in Australia! I had a flat white and a pain au chocolat. They were so good I went back for seconds of both.

A very modern, beautifully decorated cafe. Coffee was really good although quite expensive but we didn't have anything to eat. Service was fine.

Was interested in trying coffee here since I see it was recommend. We wanted a latte to go and this almost seemed to be a foreign concept. It did take a long time to make, and I understand it does take awhile for better coffee. One of us ordered an iced latte and it was seemed like it was just an americano with an ice cube in it.
Would I recommend going? Sure. If you were in the area and maybe had time to sit inside.

I still love their coffee but ditching the WiFi meant I won't hike over there for their 5.75 euro lattes. Service has gotten even slower, and it was always a bit iffy, so ditching WiFi didn't seem to open things up. The wait person told me they started by banning laptops on weekends, and then decided that people sitting in the cafe for hours on end using the internet made turnover of tables too slow. Whatever....I don't think they solved any problems, and coming from Seattle where we breathe caffeine and WiFi is available in almost every espresso cafe, La Cafèotèque was a disappointment this trip to Paris.

For our long weekend in Europe cafeotheque with it's buttery croissants, marmelade and the coffee were the perfect start of that day. It's a bit dark in the cafe but maybe it was because it was still very early. For Paris my highlight considering food and restaurants we've been to.
