I was looking for a place close by to eat. Could have gone to the pizza place bit further on past the station as it was good there but just wanted to have something quick. In the end I went here. Couldn't check the reviews at this point but looking at the reviews now... things haven't changed. As people have... More

We were staying over the road in the ibis hotel and walked past a few times in the day and I really wanted it ha First impressions we were a little disappointed when we asked for a table in the empty restaurant the server actually tutted at us and didn't exactly make us feel welcome. But by the time we... More

This restaurant is near the Ibis Alesia Hotel in the Rue des Plantes (cross over the main Rue D'Alesia and its on the right hand side) and I thought I'd give it a try. I was a little concerned, having read the mixed reviews, that it might be terrible but I was pleasantly surprised! The lady owner (I assume) gave... More

Visited the restaurant on the off chance as it looked like a nice traditional Italian. Surprised to read the previous mixed reviews. I would say we are reasonably choosy, and are certainly the first to criticise poor service, and although the owner began quieter, she was pleasant enough, and was actually joking and laughing through most of the service. We... More

Visited on a Friday evening - we were the only ones in at first, but it filled up gradually. Had a really nice prawn salad for starters - the leaves were very fresh and good selection. Had a tortellini for the main, which again was very nice. OH had lasagne which he enjoyed too. Service was good.

The fish we orderd was dry and had hair in it. And the meat was not good either. The only good thing was that we didnt have to pay for the fish.

My husband and I went here for a Pizza...the female in charge is a surly miserable woman and clearly did not like Tourists especially English..We hadn't opened our mouth and she already had the English menus in her hand. We tried to be friendly but she didn't respond and never spoke to us once. Pizzas were just banged down in... More

It is simply clear that the female owner of the restaurant has problems. She was extremely rude to the tourist tables (including ours), never smiled and in fact, gave us a sigh when we ordered more food! We were very polite and my family tried our best to speak in french as well to respect her and her restaurant. This... More

This place looks like a typical bistro, but what a disappointment. We skipped starters as we weren't particularly hungry. The lasagna which my partner ordered was the worst he has ever eaten. There was no bechamel sauce and the topping consisted of a very thick layer of mozzarella (!?) cheese. His ordered side salad (4 euros) consisted of a couple... More

Went here on our first night in Paris in June 2010 as we were in a hurry. Food was great but the service was very poor. Tried my best to order in French and was very polite but despite this we ignored most of the time and the waiting staff didn't even offer us another drink so we paid our... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
