The bar was lined with characters straight out of a Samuel Beckett play. Very friendly and accommodating staff who were very helpful with their recommendations. Good mix of clientele.

Food was on poor side of average and overpriced Peculiar policy on selling wine by the glass until noticed a bottle of Rioja on board for€42 - seemed to serve different bottles of wine to other customers Carrots were Luke warm and creamed potatoes had a oily consistency. Did not live up to the reviews

La Coude Fou is in the heart of the Marais, popular with tourists and locals alike, and although on the smaller side, it doesn't feel cramped or crowded. The menu is as varied with a good assortment of classic and modern French dishes, and the wine and drink list is quite extensive. Try the "vin du moment," usually a good... More

5 of us at here last night. A nice cosy little place with a few rooms allowing for intimacy or small groups. First the wine list was great and has 6 reds and whites by the glass plus a tasting was allowed which is great for us because we just can't figure out the French wine from the label (yes... More

This restaurant in the Le Marais area was recommended to us by a friend living in Paris, and it did not disappoint. The food was wonderful (I had rabbit) and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and the ambience welcoming. They also have a nice wine selection and were quite helpful in describing the choices.

We visited Le Coude Fou as a family group of five. The restaurant has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. I was very impressed with all the food, from the starters through to the desserts, with the Angus steak a highlight! The food was reasonably priced and the service was great

Interesting food. Interesting menu The courses were good without Bering heavy The asparagus and egg were perfect. Rabbit was well cooked as was the fish. No potatoes or rice but fitted our needs perfectly. Good atmosphere. Everyone else was local.

When I visit Paris, I always come here for at least a dinner or two. Its a small bistro, family run, with an ever changing menu. You can't go wrong with lamb, beef or seafood dishes and the wine selection is reasonably priced and quite nice. The breaded and honey covered camembert is delectable as a starter.

Italian dishes included. Doesn't represent typical French cuisine, in my opinion. Nothing to complain, but nothing to praise either. Staff was kind of an unapproachable?

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
