Great place for Serbian and Balkan food in Paris. The cheese appetizers are particularly delicious. I've been a couple times with friends and we've tried most of the grilled meats and really enjoyed them. The restaurant offers affordable Balkan wines, as well as French. We...More

I was invited to this restaurant by a French friend who also has Serb ancestry and he discovered this small cozy place a few months ago, even though it has been serving a loyal clientele for several years. He confirmed the authenticity of the cuisine,...More

When you're in Paris and want a taste of Serbia, go to the 18th arrondissement and try this restaurant for a change of pace when you're tired of dining on other ethnic food, and especially if you're hungry. It's a little off the beaten track...More

For everyone who likes a meat in the plate better than the salad, this restaurant is the right place to go. The ambient is nice and cosy - typical Serbian style with pictures of historical heroes on the walls. We were served by the daughter...More

Zavicaj restaurant in Paris' Clignancourt quarter is subtitled 'Au Pays Natal' but it all means the same thing: homeland. This Serbian restaurant brings the very soul of Serbia to Paris, from its authentic 19th-century peasant decor to the beautifully -- and proudly-- presented specialties of the house. Just to put you in the mood, the walls are stucco and stone with exposed beams and photos of Serbian life, hand-woven cushions adorn the wood banquettes, crockery and work implements are found displayed here and there and the servers greet you in traditional dress. The warm welcome is the real thing, too. Dishes include the familiar like moussaka and more adventurous things like national dish pljeskavica au kajmak, a sort of beef and pork hamburger with farmers' cheese served in pitas. Try the discovery menu for the full experience.
