We went here on the recommendation of friends, and we really enjoyed it. I had the mixed starters, to try a little of everything, and they were all incredible. I was really torn between the three veggie main dishes, but the option I chose was delicious, little dumplings filled with leeks, and served with loads of vegetables and yoghurt.

I enjoyed the quiet room ( lower level ) for a dinner with friends, the service was friendly and efficient . The food was good, with lots of vegetables and meat for those who like meat. It was a different experience. , I suggest that if you are visiting the Eiffel Tower and the Champ de Mars, you hop on... More

We passed the Afhgani on the steep Paul Albert ascent to the summit of Montmartre. Our airbnb was at the foot, on Rue Clignancourt, just 5 minutes away. We were enticed by the descriptions of the dishes, and decided to pay a visit. We weren't disappointed. My partner usually sticks to plain food, but even he was totally won over... More

We were taken here by friends who live in the 18th and come here often. We would not have stumbled upon it by chance as it is a bit hidden away despite being only yards from Sacre Coeur. We have eaten in only one other Afghan restaurant--the venerable Helmand in Cambridge, MA where we live. This small place in Paris... More

Delicious traditional afghani food. The restaurant is a warm place and staff is kind and helpful! Really good value for money! And if you are lucky, you got to listen the owner with friends playing and singing traditional music! Highly recommend!

It was my first time trying Afghan food and I have been pleasantly surprised! I tried the aubergine with yogurt, cheese nan and a vegetarian course. Everything was tasty and delicious. I also recommend to try the mint tea. The environment is nice and the staff is kind. I will definitely go back!

I was tired of french food so wanted to try something different. Went for dinner on thursday night at 10pm. Only 2 other groups in house, nice and relaxing ambiance with dim lighting. Food was lackluster. I couldn't read the most of the menu but ordered the salad, which turned out to be diced cucumbers/tomato with yogurt, and the lamb... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
