This was a lucky find for an early dinner after a long walk around Paris. The specials board tempted us in and despite a much wider range on offer we ended up ordering 3 courses which proved to be excellent. For starters, baked Camembert and onion soup au gratin, for mains we both opted for steak and shallots with frites,... More

Wow I had the best chicken I've had in my life. It was the roast chicken, the juice/gravy was so tasty. I would highly recommend eating here! The owner is so cute and sweet.

The food was nice, although it took 45 min to be served. The waiters expected everyone to speak French fluently and ignored any attempt to speak some words of French or english. My friend attempted to have a bite of a sweet bough in the store next door( completely different from whatever they were offering ) and was quite yelled... More

Sir, In order to respond to your comment in a proper fashion. I'd first like to say that it would have been difficult to have a dialogue and take your order in an other language that english knowing that you didn't speak french. I would also like to add that my waiter, being american, I find that difficult to believe... More

On a return visit to Paris in May 2016 our first lunch stop was here, and we were not disappointed. The Boeuf Bourgignon was a memorable treat as was the ambiance of the location.

I stopped here randomly just bc I was hungry. I ordered from today's specials list: turnip soup, cod and vegetables. Everything was very tasty, fresh and served fast. Place was very busy with locals. The waiters were friendly and all spoke English. The tables were small and cramped close, otherwise no problems.

We found this place while hunting for a patio eating experience after shopping in the Marais. It was a Friday night the first time (we went twice) so quite busy. Charles who greeted us said they were full, when we offered to wait he was very accommodating and served us bottle of wine while we waited on a bench in... More

Very good food, attentive servers, with a lovely terrace, Au Bistrot de la Place is just a block North of the rue de Rivoli. It faces a square on which 4 or 5 other bistros also seek diners and offer similar fare. My dinner was tasty, and then some. Prices are reasonable, and similar to other eateries in the Marais.

This was the second restaurant we tried on Place Ste-Catherine. I do love this little square. We had the carte du jour which included a squash soup to start. It was good though a little watery. For our mains we split a lasagna and beef brochettes with frites. Neither were mind blowing but they did the job and after eating... More

The place looks lovely, but it doesn't take many seconds to discover that this is a place made for tourists. The staff is nice, but the food is not interesting.

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
