As an American girl on my own for the evening after a busy day of sightseeing with friends, I found this place to be just what I wanted: fascinating, serene, & refined. The young male owner could not have been more kind & gracious, & he served the best French Onion soup I've ever had in my life. The Gothic... More

The name of the restaurant is very promising. The location is splendid. Yet, 'La Table des Gourmets' does not deliver. Their menu options lack imagination. The wine list is one of the poorest that I have encountered in a French restaurant. The quality of the food is reasonable though and the 18 Euros set is quite reasonable in price and... More

I'm surprised at the negative and, I feel snobby, reviews. I've eaten here maybe six times over five years and have always felt that I have gotten good value. No one can deny that the room is spectacular. So what's the beef? The entrance is drab and depressing. Do people dislike the Chinese ownership as not being "French"? I'm not... More

Don't be fooled by the entrance. The dining facilities are very nice with a great atmosphere. The service was good, but the quality of the food is way below average. Re-heated frozen vegetables tasting like something from a cheap fast food diner. Dessert not fresh and clearly not made in-house. This place would have been extraordinary if only they had... More

My experience was way better than the reviews led me to believe. We were invited here by some French friends who work nearby. They are regulars for the atmosphere and the food. And, the food was really excellent for 18 Euros. And lots of it, too. the place is a bit weird for a French restaurant as it is run... More

The restaurant is located in the 4th Arrondissement, in the basement of a building that was a 12th century chapel. Archaeological excavations during remodeling have brought to light some interesting facts and objects. The atmosphere is quite impressive. The visible staff consists of a female Chinese boss and two young Chinese waiters, one was very friendly and chatty, while the... More

The downstairs floor has a fine romantic atmosphere and our waiter was nice, polite and interesting to talk to, but the food was tasteless.

A Parisian friend recommended this restaurant- great food, beautiful place, good value. My friends and I loved it! Owned by a Chinese family, but excellent French food.

Good value for money, delicious traditional French food, friendly owners and a dining room in the underground 12 th century vault! A good place for families with children, especially teenagers. Don't be put off by the entrance to the restaurant; it's tacky. Very convenient location off of Rue de Rivoli near Chatelet metro station.

Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
