Already 45mn were waiting to order a simple bottle of wine... Really poor service... Masochistic address. Another 20mn to get the right number of glasses... Run away if you can... Try the dandys rue des lombard.

The location is brilliant, the rest is acceptable but nothing special. The standard red wine is below mediocre, but as a plus they do have afflingen beer on tab :-)

We visited around 3 o'lock on a very busy Sunday and opted for the 21 euro brunch, which consisted of coffee or tea, pastries, juice, pancake with maple syrup, smoked salmon, anchovies, crayfish, salad, scrambled egg and sauteed potatoes - just yummy. Followed by a choice of dessert - very good value and very good food.

Had a relaxing few drinks and some light food at this great restaurant. Very relaxed atmosphere. No pressure from the wait staff. Some nice outdoor tables with space between them for a change. Also excellent partitions to break up the noise from people around and about. Went back a few times in the evening just to people watch!

We ate fillet steaks and thought they were not particularly well seared, and were underdone, though the meat was good. The fries were excellent though. The service was quite attentive and friendly. We ate outside on a warm night and it was an excellent spot to watch the people go by. Drinks were quite expensive compared to other places locally,... More

I dined there twice recently. The escargot was superb (I am particular about my escargot) and the half chick dish main course was excellent. The wait staff is a little bit short for the size of the crowds they draw, but not too much different any place else. They were nice to my wife and I, patient with our limited... More

Definitely avoid this place for the food but it's good for happy hour drinks. The location is stellar, service below average, and my dish was not fresh in the slightest. So, come here for drinks then move on afterwards for a wonderful meal in one of the hundreds of other places nearby.

I had a drink there with one of my friend. The drinks (Coconut Mojitos) were great but I had never seen a waiter that rude. And I am french so this is not a cultural choc. He was so impolite and awkward that it made us uncomfortable and we left. We even wondered if he was drunk, that is to... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
